Item/Rank/Feature:
Fish both Cooked and Raw
Data Value: 349 & 350
Current Price: Raw Fish (ID 349): $5 & Cooked Fish (ID 350): $5.50
Suggested Price: Raw Fish (ID 349): $25 & Cooked Fish (ID 350): $30
Brief Description: Casting a fishing pole into water, waiting for the bob to dip and reeling in a fish.
Open Discussion: While a 5X price hike does seem steep, the new fishing prices still wouldn't compare to some powerfarmers' hourly wage. Fishing is barely used and more fish in the economy could change some exchanges as well as promote the mcmmo devs to squash some fishing bugs (excuse me if this is false information!). In reality, people do take on jobs as fisherman and are able to make a decent living. In ECC, fishing just doesn't cut it compared to pretty much every other strategy such as mining, farming, and excavation. According to the minecraft wiki, a fish can be caught roughly every 15 seconds. At $5 per raw fish, that calculates to a measely $1,200 per hour. I can earn more and eat more while voting. Even if you do decide to cook the fish, the monetary gain is only an extra 120 dollars. With pumpkin farming, you can earn about 7 times as much per hour even going at a slower rate than some of our power farmers. With the new fish prices, the monetary gain for raw fish would be $6,000/hour and $7,200/hour for cooked fish. A small increase, but still less than pumpkin farming even after two nerfs. Fishing is easy to get started which is why it shouldn't be increased any further and, by using averages from the wiki, the hourly wage can be slightly higher or lower based on your luck with fishing.

I support this, fishing should be another thing added to the economy and $6k per hour seems like a fair rate. Also if the special fishing drops through mcmmo could be added I would like to see this happen.

I totally agree with this :)

I agree. I mean, fishing drops by the mcmmo could be limited/controlled can it not? I would assume that whatever problems it may present (though I myself cannot think of any), they would be easily fixable. Besides, I also agree with videowiz. 6k and hour seems like a reasonable rate compared to some of the other things that this server offers. In comparison to a wheat, melon, or pumpkin farm, it takes less setup and less movement, but it also requires patience, practice, and timing. So there is more skill involved with jamming your right mouse button at the disappearance of that little red bob than holding down left click while walking forward.
In summation, I support and agree with orkins post XD

+1. I think if Andrew enables the MCMMO fishing skill, with a nerf on the items that can be received, I would fish for a while, just to make some money. The only problem is, with them being so much a lot more people with start using autofishing programs. Other than that, yes! Better tag for Andrew!

I have to agree as well. the more ways in which we have to make money in ECC the more fun we will all have overall.

whats nice about fishing is you dont need a big pool to fish so you can set up a small one in the chunk of a wheat or reed farm so you can fish while your plants grow not afk thou thats just cheap

Wow....this would be the exact opposite of a sinkhole.
Everyone who is hoping this would happen....buy all fish at server price so you can just stock up and sell it later or just break even xD -

I support this, I also think we should greatly reduce the amount of porkchops awarded from voting. I am getting chests full and think that reducing this would create a market for people who are interested in selling food. Increasing the demand would increase the price.
