    Brief Description:
The new /condense switch does not seem to handle 2x2 blocks like bricks.

    Instructions:
    1. Inv full of bricks
    2. Run the /condense cmd
    3. Get error ;)

How many times did you recreate this bug?:
I have tried it 4 times now, have also tried it with stone, for the same result.

    Result:
You get an error statement " You have no items that can be converted into blocks

    Expected Result:
Create a nice pile of brick blocks ;) instead of having to load up the 4 squares and "shift-craft" them. I know it is not as much work as the "true" blocks, but would still help.

    Evidence:
    Inv full of bricks
    Error screen
    Manually doing the block build
    Completed manual craft

If you hold the bricks and do /condense hand. Then it will work. Simply using /condense will only effect the 3x3 blocks. We did this purposefully to avoid any accidental combining such as stone into stone bricks.

You can also do /condense [itemname], in this case, /condense brick.

"Using just the /condense command will condense everything in your inventory into its compacted form, however items that cannot be converted back will stay the same as a precaution to accidentally condensing unwanted items."

Use" /condense all" or" /condense hand". Still not working?

Thanks team, but the stone still does not work, bricks do, but stone still gives and error, both as generic /condense as well as /condense hand and /condense stone
Unless stone is "one" of those items ;)

Considering all the things stone can be used to make, this was likely done purposefully to avoid accidental wrong crafting.

Stone does not condense because if you change them to stone bricks, you have the same amount of stacks. The command is intended to free up room in your inventory, not to craft the blocks.
