I agree with all of these points based on that 1.if you just give them a verbal warning every time then their is no real punishment as long as they only do it once per post (Unless a staff notices) 2. Second appeal I noticed with major faults that was passed on that could of been dealt with quickly since their is no way it would pass since lack of work was present ( If they are tagging higher ups it should be doubled checked for everything). 3. I am forums every day, and their is more people on staff then their is me. All staff should be going through forums at least once a day since their is no reason not to and perhaps should be listed under the staff requirement with the time rule. 4. The inactive people will tell no tales (Neat reference is neat). Anyway, how can an inactive person report you for not paying them back if they do not know that you were paying them back/cannot receive it. Perhaps (and this maybe a suggestion latter on) that we follow your statement and pay active people first and then setup a temp forum one way money transfer for those to pay off the banned and for the money to stay in limbo until the person becomes active again (If can have a time schedule that alerts staff if not met if that is possible via codding).
I've been saying this for the past two years. Thank you for putting it in such an articulate post. +1
bump, plus added point 5 5) Periodic Payments on Long-Term Scamming Appeals When players come back after scams for hundreds of thousands, if not millions, these repayment schedules range in length from weeks to even several months. Requiring a simple lump sum payment at the end of the period does not sufficiently ensure that the money will be earned in the proper timeframe, as players can simply put it off towards the end that think that they're fine, until it is too late to fix it. Not to mention that any player coming back with no intention to repay the loan can be given extra weeks to months totally free - with no obligation to pay the person they owe until months have passed. Weekly or bi-weekly payments ensure that money is being earned in a timely manner.
+1 All your points are well structured and though out, it's a shame you're not still on the staff team
1+ Yes, get the server running smoother; it's a win for all players, staff and people coming into the community.
This^ Completely agree with all points, cept I think that a ban appeal sitting there for a couple days is ok, let them sweat it out, wondering if they will actually get unbanned or not... however letting it sit there for more than 2-3 days is a bit much.
I totally agree with this - for the most part staff goes straight to a forum warning but every now and then we get a staff member who asks them not to post irrelevantly anymore, and most of the people who post irrelevantly know better. I check the ba/c a few times a day and really the tags are completely unnecessary, I honestly don't even pay attention to them. I would, however, argue that tags in the LWC section for trade sign removals are useful, I don't usually check that section unless I get a tag. For the most part appeals are handled with the exception of some GA+ appeals. Just took a quick look through the ban appeals archive and didn't really see any appeals that weren't handled within 24 hours besides some GA+ appeals. I take this into consideration handling appeals, I typically have them pay the most active user first. Totally agree - should be weekly payments if the amount owed is over a certain amount (maybe like 500k+ or something).
There's really no reason for those to take extra time either. In general though this is less a problem now than when I originally made the suggestion.
