2: Parents pay for electricity, usually.
Also, if they already have a bad microphone getting a 5 dollar microphone probably isn't any better. -
Well ecc is in need of a better community like we used to, jacob is write this server is getting boring especially on vent, when you get on its ppl in music or like 20 mods in the mod only chat, its no fun, and when you get on ecc to play, there is no fun at all, there is so much moderating you cant even see chat, although moderating is good but to alevel, now ik 20+mods guna try to explain why this is horrible and things are fine, but really? mods have macros to say stop spamming please, its sad, im just saying things need to chance, we need more fun somehow! bring back the community we used to have

I feel like I should respond to some of the comments about moderators.
I personally try to interact with players as much as I can, but it is hard to actually play on the server when we have to tend to all of our responsibilities. I think what the average player doesn't understand is how much we actually have to do. At any given moment, I will have 3 or 4 people private messaging me, someone trying to ask something in global, and 2 people chatting with me in local. While I love helping the players with their problems, I also love to actually play and build things. Many people know that I build the giant bunnies, but I also build other statues for regular players and build my own things in single player. I know that most players would love it if the staff was more available to just chat, but most of the time I spend on the server is used to deal with my staff responsibilities. At the end of the day, I prefer to help players as a staff member more than I prefer building things and socializing. That is why I applied for mod. I can build things any old time in single player. In my opinion, the moderators are not there to socialize with everyone, but to make the server a better place. I feel that I am doing that. If you want to socialize, there are usually 200+ other players to chat with. If you need help, there may only be 4 or 5 people you can talk to. Mods have to be the person that is there to help if someone needs it.
In regards to macro-mod, I installed macro-mod about a month ago in order to actually answer everyone who messages me. Players, including me, take it personally when someone doesn't answer them. I try to answer everyone, and attempt conversation with people when I am not busy, but if I am trying to deal with a complaint and someone messages me simply to chat, I tend to tell them I am busy at the moment, and usually tell them when I will be able to talk.
In regards to one of the comments, by AgentHare, he said hello to me in global. At the same time, two other people also messaged me saying hello. At the time, I was already talking to two players in pm about a complaint. I did, actually, say hello to AgentHare after a minute or two, but it was after I finished dealing with the people messaging me. By then he may not have seen it. I am genuinely sorry that I did not answer him in time for him to see, as he may have had something important to tell me, but I will continue to try and get better at watching my chat in that regard. For now, people who private message me are higher in line for my attention than those who try to get my attention in global when I am busy.
I would also like to comment about the Ventrilo complaints.
When there are a lot of mods in the staff chat in vent, it is 90% of the time because we are dealing with a large complaint, like someone scamming dozens of people, or we are testing something new that is being added to the server, like the survival games updates.
When we are not discussing those things, I, personally, don't chat that often in vent. Occasionally, I will chat in global channel, but often I will not because I play ECC in my living room, the same room that my family watches TV, entertains guests in, and talk on the phone in. This generally means, for me, that it would be rude to chat in vent when my brother, for instance, is watching a movie. Or if my dad is trying to call the bank on the phone.
Another comment was that we should restrict use of Ventrilo for players who do not have a "good" mic, or for younger players. Ventrilo is set up how it is so that any player can have access to this feature. If someone wants to narrate their whole ECC experience in ventrilo, they are certainly allowed. If we start to ban people from vent for having a bad mic, should we also ban people from ECC for typing slow? No. It isn't our place to say someone isn't allowed to be there if they are following all of the rules. That is my opinion, at least.
Also, sorry for the wall of text. lol.-
