We've changed the internal system for our extended creations donation feature.
Nothing has really changed in general, here's what's happened:
-LWCs now no longer prevent from people using the sign. Anyone can now toggle any sign protected by an LWC, even private ones. However LWCs will still prevent people from breaking your creation signs, so make sure to lock them!
-Blocks will now stay the same. For example, bridge blocks cannot be broken as long as they're connected to the bridge sign as well all previous blocks you could use to make creations such as bridges, doors, etc are all still in effect!
-In some cases, your old ext creations objects built before this update may have to be re-created in order for them to function properly again. This can be done by breaking and remaking the sign. This may not be the case for everyone however.

I am not sure if my specific problem existed before today as I only donated for Extcreations last night.
It seems that I can not get rid of a gate I created.
Ways I have tried to remove it:
Gate open sign in place, hitting fence doesn't remove it.
Gate closed sign in place, hitting fence doesn't remove it.
Gate open sign removed, hitting fence doesn't remove it.
Gate closed sign removed, hitting fence doesn't remove it.
I have also tried to relog in between actions. I also did not use /lwc on the sign so it is not a /lwc issue that I can tell.
It could be that after you remove the sign the gate is not "unregistered" server side until a restart/reboot of the plugin.

I have run into the same problem. Once I make the gate, even if I have it open, then destroy the sign, I cannot break the fences that makes the gate.
*Edit*
Made a bug report here:

Any thoughts? -
After the server reset due to lag, I was able to remove my gate.
It was in the up/open position, and the sign was removed before the reset.
I am not sure how often the server is reset/rebooted but if we add a warning regarding gates this may be a decent temporary fix.
