I have seen the Caps Filter work. I think it works very efficiently and it is a great idea. I have also seen A LOT of cursing on the server and I though this idea would solve that. I was thinking if someone could develop a Curse Filter, similar to the Caps filter, but that you can program the files to block out certain words that should not be used. I don't know if someone has already made this, but I think this idea would work well. -nickvaras777
I'm not much for censorship at all... But with the amount of users we have now, a filter might be helpful. :/ Mods can be busy and sometimes almost none are on, and I know people swear and others get upset over it.
Yeah, I forgot to say a filter would work. This also helps out the mods with swearing issues. Maybe not a lot, but it could improve it slightly or could have a chance of making the spam of swearing decrease.
I'm against this. While swearing is frowned upon by some people, it is not against the rules, only when used directly against someone or used in excess. Censoring all of it might as well be saying that its entirely banned by the server, which it isnt.
I don't mind swearing, slip ups, and so on at all... But I don't like when several users freak out just because someone swears once, and it isn't a bad swear. We can't warn on every swear, but we also don't want several users freaking out and causing mayhem. :/

I don't mean ban Swearing completely, I'm just saying this would be easier for the mods. Because I'm pretty sure its annoying when you have to say one of those quotes Rez posted above every 5 minutes. (Not the cursing Ones ) -nickvaras777
Implementing a curse filter generally doesn't work too well, it makes cursing by de-facto against the rules, and usually just ends up with people cursing in more graphical or evasive means, which generally is worse than you started with.
How about getting a plugin that just changes curse words to other words? Like instead of f--- it turns into the censored version f**k same with s--- b---- and others.
There is a plugin for that... Ive seen servers where if you say f*ck it will change it to Pony or something.
A plugin that changes curse words into something else will highly confuse people. I would be tempted to even have fun with it. ._.;;
I've played on servers with curse filters Because this post doesn't make much sense being censored itself, I will stick the rest in the spoiler. Only read if you don't mind reading cursing. Spoiler If you block 'fuck' people will instead say 'fcuk' or 'fuk', or one of the other 50 ways to type it, hell even 'f**k' still gets your point across. No matter how its written as long as the person reading it still knows which word is said, its not censored. Even if you use a replace filter (some of those do end up funny), people generally just get more graphic. Instead of "fuck off" you get "go away or i will do <some insulting action> to/with your mom" I have seen some filters which use literal meanings to replace with, like "bastard" to "person of illegitimate birth" and "fuck" to "have intercourse with", the result is usually quite amusing, due to the butchering of English used in most slang insults.
