I'll pay you enough money to make this town, if you agree to build it next to one of my three builder towns. I have three towns all free to join, and the griefing is very low. In fact in my four months of service, the only people I've had issues with were presidents so the griefing problem is more so just myth.

Well, cooba, I think as a personal opinion that this is a good idea, we were all once builders and we wanted to have a SAFE home. I think what your doing is a bold decision and although not recommended by many experienced players, it deserves some accreditation and support. I will help out with farms, housing etc. and all you have to do is put the plan in motion. And I want all you mayors and presidents to realize that YOU were once a builder, you once wanted a home that cannot be griefed by just anybody. Every player once was a builder. So you are hypocrites, you think you have a divine right to talk crap about your once kinfolk. I do recognize some builders grief, but some residents and the like grief too. Endoric tears down "house" that does not have a proper roof and he is a moderator. We all have our dreams. And if Coobadiver's is to help the underlings, then so be it. I want to be a mayor of a wonderful town with people of every rank. My point just in case you just skipped to the end, let cooba be, I support him and his dream, but haters gonna hate.

 

Once you get the resident tag, you get much more then that, it means you have been given a new level of trust among ECC players. Endoric is right, some peole just grief as a resuslt of they're unstable nature, just like real life bullying. People take revenge on the weaker ones, to somehow reliefe the pain the hold inside. An online community can be for many a place where they know the're are accepted despite anything they might have done in the past, becouse a computer is a mask, you can customize it and create a new virtual person. They also feel that if they're protected by that mask, they can do whatever they want. I'll log in ECC and insult everyone. There's no problem becouse its a game ans they cant hurt me nor punish me. They feel in a game a freedom they just dont have in real life. That's where amny griefers come from, The fact that they are usually residents simply reflects the fact that most of them cant putt effort into a goal, for example building a town.

Gosh i have gone way to deep on this subject. My opinion, dont make a builders only town:
-Not profitable
-Alot of grief
-You will be dealing with alot of immature people
-Most builders come with «box structures» also known as houses :D

If you're a builder and feel like you deserve all off my trust get resident. There i will know that atleast you put effort into achieving something, and that i can count on you for future deals.
-Much grief cant be rolledback, so expect alot of holes, dirt towers... etc
-Builders wont have money to pay u
-The whole town will be looking quite ugly if the builders themselves cant create a good looking house.

Im sorry z1967, i must clarify one point you aproached on your last post. Endoric is an amazing mod and he doesn't ENJOY griefing. A mayor as complete power over his town, and he might even ban you from the town without specifying a reason, as long as it is not based on racism or religious causes. By entering a town you automaticly accept the mayor's policys. Some mayors even make that very clear by posting a list of terms and conditions whose acceptence is required in order to join the town. Just trying to make everyone aware of this.

yes i do, but i inform anyone in my towns that they can build whatever they like but i will be the judge of if it looks good. Its my town, even if i am a moderator i am subject to the same rules as everyone else. that also means i am privileged to the same benefits as any mayor or president.

one of my rules is no cheap building materials and no boxes. I set up an area for builders that signed on to help me that they can build whatever they like. only one builder tried to copy the roofing on my other structures. the rest were boxes... one was out of his plot and i think only one never griefed and he was a resident.

btw... most of those builders griefed in one way or another and were either banned from the server or kicked from my town.

my joke rule goes like this. "you can build what you like, as long as i build it."

 

It's an interesting idea but why is everyone hating on my house building technique.

 

I guess we could all lean something in Endoric's classes on building. I really hope that idea comes to life a lot of people sould sart thinking out-of-the-box :)

 

Try picking builders who have donated ive seen quite a bit

 

Or just make cheap stuff no more expensive logs. That way it would be purposeless to grief.
