I was able to reproduce this bug by trying some different items. happend at diamond sword and reproduced with diamond boots 1. the items have to have medium-max enchantment so that the combine of the items will just add the extra enchantment. 2. place the 2 items in anvil 3. take the items out 4. place the item what was in slot2 into slot1 (if not poofed yet) 5. place item what was in slot2 into slot1 why would i do that "often" it depends on the enchantments from an item how many mc level need for the merge, but when switch the place it can be more cheap depending on added enchantments (vanilla mechanic) if you need help to reproduce this bug let me know and i can show it with discord screenshare Regards SchnetzleR
Looks like to be something going on with the 2nd slot, especially if I move quickly to place something in the second slot. Here is a video of me poofing a pickaxe 3 times. Following the current reproduction steps;
