Minecraft Username: Avowin Brief Description: I don't know if this is a bug, but mob exp is enabled in main world. I know that block exp is blocked, but I do not know for sure if mob exp is supposed to be enabled? Instructions: Kill a mob in the main world (specifically I killed a fish) How many times did you recreate this?: About 5 times Result: EXP from killing a mob Expected Result: No exp? Evidence:
Don’t think mob xp was ever blocked in the main world simply because the only mobs that show up are non hostile
Actually, Drowned do show up in the world as well. I'm guessing drowned weren't disabled from spawning?
A lot of the new "hostile" (misunderstood) mobs are able to spawn in the main world and can be spawned via spawn eggs. This has been a known case since shulkers, polar bears, etc. were added. More of a feature than anything and I wouldn't mind seeing more hostile mobs being able to spawn via spawn eggs.
Yes, mob exp has never been blocked in the main world. This is correct. To clarify, hostile mobs are being seen in the main Rising world due to the fact it is a very big new map, and while it was generated mobs were not butchered. We do have a hostile mob butcher in the main Rising world every 15 minutes, however seeing as it only butchers in loaded chunks (where players are), there will continue to be "undiscovered" hostile mobs on Rising. I estimate a good 1-2 years before every single one is discovered, stays loaded, and gets hit and affected by the butcher.
