Bring PVP back to the mining world

Why not a mining world portal and a pvp mining world portal?

Edit- No, we already have nether for that. No one would visit the mining world pvp portal.

 

-1. Server has sufficient support for those that focus on PVP. From a personal aspect I have chosen this server as it supports my game play, mostly although not entirely, which is based on material gathering, building my own town and interacting with a like-minded community.

As this type of player, I miss not being able to develop MCMMO skills against mobs as they are aligned only for PVP, and accept this and do not participate in SG games, as this is not why I play Minecraft. If I want to chase 'frags' I get my kicks from first person shooters on other platforms.

I agree and offer my humble 2c as well!
Enjoy the SG games and PVP already provided. While I see SG as hugely popular, it seems that the PVP world is somewhat a ghost town so why should anyone want PVP enabled in the mining world?
The only reason I can think is it would be an easy way to kill new players that are just getting started and don't have features to protect themselves and steal their items. Is that really the message we would like to send to our new players? My thought is that we should encourage and help new players become contributing members of ECC and to have a server to have fun on and want to be here.

I dont see much reason to activate pvp in the mining world because it has recently been reset but in a couple days it will be barren and not many people will still find unexplored areas. Plus its supposed to be a safe place for miners to not worry about bandits. Unlike other server which highly encourage pvp this one is an economy server not pvp.

 

Well, it seems to be working fine the way it is now. Users, especially new users, get most of their money from mining (No, Im not saying miners are noobs. Heck, my name has 'Miner' in it.). Im saying that, in order for users to be successful, have fun, and stay (As well as encourage friends/relatives to join), they need to have a source of money. Before, when the mining world was PvP, there were only 100-180 ish people on the server. Then, two large things changed. One, the mining world was opened up to builders and was PvP disabled. Sg was also added, but this is irrelevant to this topic. Anyways, after the big mining world (mw) change, and the server was upgraded (meaning higher user capacity) there were many more people active.

To be honest, the mw is the ONLY way for new users to make money.

Now, you say you don't like users stealing your spawner. You also say you don't like users breaking your spawner with X-ray. I would suggest holding shift while mob grinding to prevent users from coming to your name tag, and to break any and all cobblestone/mossycobble (or other un-natural block) and replacing it with stone.

 

Why do we not have a builder only mining world and then everyone else has one that is pvp enabled? I've been asking this question since the issue arose.

 

@CrazySwagMaster1 - it is not as simple as a builder only world. I am not a builder, but I also do not want to be forced to take star tools to a PVP environment. Please explain to me why the PVP world that exists is not good enough? I do not understand this at all.

 

I also notice a lot of you have your own town's. If you want pvp so badly why don't you get a pvp arena in your town? That would allow you to PvP other places beside the PvP. Just a suggestion.

But no, We have a PvP arena for that, it would be pointless.

 

Yes, but if you had half the decency to go there and actually see how.... active it is, you'd know what we are talking about. Nether is "No mans land" as billy007bob says. Right now, you actually have to earn your spawners, and ores.

The point about eff 7 picks is what I am agreeing with. If pvp was enabled then I myself would definitely not go in to the mining world with mine. That would be way too risky.

Yeah I do I just was not fully clear if I could use lava for pvp if I can place it.

 

I see a lot of counters saying that pvp shouldn't be implemented because players might lose equipment and because there is a pvp arena.

However, why does the nether have pvp then? If that's really a good reason shouldn't the nether be non-pvp zone? (Correct me if it isn't I haven't fought anyone there in a while)

+1 this for me if the nether stays a pvp zone it's only fair.

They want to be able to force pvp on someone who doesn't want it. They want to kill scared peaceful players - to hunt them down and take their stuff. Its like griefing only it bwould be legal.
