Accepted Bring Back XP

I approve this message. But seriously, even if they dont have the money to buy xp, tool prices are going to skyrocket. Eff5's might be 20k in a few weeks, who knows. But seriously, I CANT GET EXPERIENCE! * ragequits* - new player.

 

I hate to say it, but I'm with android on this a lot of my money from mining also come from exp. As well as I've had to make all my own enchants, i cant imagine having to kill 30k spiders just to make a pick axe.

 

Now, back from my previous post-

So, the ways of getting XP are currently:

• Mining Quartz - Now, in order to have access to the NETHER you need 20k to get there. How can you get there without a good pickaxe? I mean, regular mining with a Diamond pick wont get you to riches.
• Killing Mobs- Yes, find a spawner in the mining world. Now note, you need to mine to get to them.
• Buying EXP- With the prices expected to rise according to my projections, XP wont be very economical while trying to rankup to resident, and still trying to get a good tool.

So, basically what my point is- You want more people to get on, but set XP at high prices and hard to get for new people. Lets say im a builder, I got tired of just a diamond pick, im not getting anywhere, and everyone around me has EFF7's and all of that stuff. So Im never going to get anywhere.

Without the ability to make tools, this opens up interactions between new players and current players. The new players will ask and current players provide simple.

 

But are you or a current player really going to pay 15k or so to make a good pickaxe, for free?

Obviously, you don't understand what Android is getting across. Lets put it simple.

EXP = Rare
Omg! EXP EXPENSIVE!
[Builder] cannot afford eff 5
Without eff5, [Builder] makes money very hard
[Builder] RageQuit

Lets also add the fact that Builders are not immune to lava. If they die, how can they afford a replacement pick?

 

That last part Is so true, I died with my eff4 when I was a builder and quit for a month xD.

XP needs new sinks. Touching the faucets only affects builders negatively.

(sink = xp out, faucet = xp in)

 

This. I can't imagine going back and getting my first few max tools now. How about since we are gonna flood the market with nstars while we stopper up the xp, we make some max tools available for attainable amount of nstars in the nstar shop. Builders will have plenty of nstars that will be worth a bit less and less access to xp which will cost a whole lot more. The game doesn't need to reward the players who have massive xp caches by screwing over new players.

 

+1 I remember when I was a builder I got a pumpkin axe (8k) and almost quit because it was challenging to get that money as I was still getting used to the server while trying to make that money. Now imagine a builder getting that pumpkin axe for 15-20k... The price of getting resident. That is a little absurd as new players would have to make the trade off of being a member of the server or being able to make money. Before it was reasonable but now who knows where the prices will go.

 

+1, And actually how can you even get xp from quartz? Mining it in the nether doesn't give you anything, Mining it in the mining world doesn't either, and i'm pretty sure it wont work in rising. So really, its just from mobs. I tried grinding some exp. less than 200xp from a hour sitting by a spawner. that's absurd.

 

@andrewkm I love you and this server but this was a pretty bad error on your part... like come on. This will deter new players so profoundly that the market will probably crash and burn and eff5s will become rarer than eff7s. +1000000 to this suggestion.

At least give it time to trial or Try something else before reverting back to the original xp where dozens of people were just as unhappy

Even if it's like bring back xp for fishing but nerf it
And bring back mining so only in diamonds, emeralds and lapis

I still think enable nether access xp, keep fishing xp and add more ways to spend xp, cutting off supply doesn't create a demand

I would like Mining exp to return, because this is the way most Builders get there exp I think (except buying). Fishing should stay without exp to buff it

 

The mining world has just become Rising or Legacy.
