Borderlands 2 is an open world action role-playing first-person shooter video game developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games in 2012. It is the second game in the Borderlands series and the sequel to 2009's Borderlands.
Platforms: Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and OS X ALSO ported to the PlayStation Vita and Linux later on.

Borderlands 2 allows players to complete a campaign consisting of central quests and optional side-missions as one of four treasure seekers, "Vault Hunters", on the planet Pandora. Key gameplay features from its predecessor, such as online collaborative campaign gameplay, randomly generated loot, such as weapons and shields and character-building elements commonly found in role-playing video games are in Borderlands 2.

Downloadable content for the game was released, including new characters and storylines. The Game of the Year Edition of the game included all the previous downloadable and upgrade packs except for the new campaign. Borderlands 2 had sold over 13 million copies, making it 2K's highest-selling title.

Spoiler: Basic Storyline/Plot

Plot: Five years have passed since the events of Borderlands, when the four Vault Hunters, Roland, Mordecai, Lilith, and Brick were guided by a mysterious entity known as "The Guardian Angel" on the planet of Pandora to the Vault, a mysterious alien structure that was rumored to hold ancient and exotic technology and riches. Instead, these Vault Hunters were confronted by an alien abomination known as "The Destroyer" inside the Vault. After defeating The Destroyer, a valuable mineral called "Eridium" started flourishing through Pandora's crust. Handsome Jack, the president of the Hyperion Corporation, secures this new resource and makes use of it to attempt to "bring peace" to the planet. Now, Handsome Jack rules over the inhabitants of Pandora with an iron fist from his massive satellite built in the shape of an "H", always visible in the sky in front of Pandora's moon. Meanwhile, rumors of an even larger Vault hidden on Pandora spread across the galaxy, drawing a new group of Vault Hunters to the planet in search of it.

This thread is a couple things...the Borderlands series is one of my all-time favorites...and i'm usually not the only one - if so idc this thread will be here for my personal happiness #yay

I plan to update this thread with my thoughts and experiences as I play through the story mode again and even play my old saves.

SHiFT Code & Weapon/Loot explanation

Once you've made it through the intro missions and entered Sanctuary which becomes like "home-base" you can start redeeming SHiFT Codes which give you anywhere from 1-25 golden keys.

These keys are used open a big golden chest that holds some amazing weapons. As you level up so do the weapons in the chest. the chest opens up to reveal 1 or 2 items: shields, grenade mods, guns of all kinds etc

All the weapons that come out of this chest fall in between Uncommon to E-Tech. The weapons are ranked in the following way: ( I have stared the ones that usually come out of the Golden chest)

• Level 1 = White = Common.
• Level 2 = Green = Uncommon.
• Level 3 = Blue = Rare. **
• Level 4 = Purple = Epic. **
• Level 5 = Orange = Legendary. (these are the weapons everyone works hard to find)
• Level 6 = Magenta = E-tech. **
• Level 7 = Pink = Seraph.
• Level 8 = Cyan = Pearlescent.

Seraph and Pearlescent weapons come later when you unlock certain DLC's but you can find friends to give them to you or trade with.

Tired of the default skins? Legendary skins taking forever to find?

• After unlocking these skins in the main screen
• Load the game and enter your inventory to find head and skin decals - double click on them to redeem
• THEN find a Quick Change station and try them on

Redeem some of these for epic customizations for more in-game fun
