I look at the applications for stuff pretty regularly and when people were still allowed to do it, I never saw it done. Not many people want used land when they could get a town on fresh land for alot less cost. I agree the tweaking to the system to deal with banned forever owners or ones that have simply left never to return needs to be dealt with but I don't think bringing this back will do that at all. I know you can now pay 100k to have the map chunk of the town refreshed but why pay transfer fee, standard application costs for mayor etc, plus 100k when you could setup on untouched land?

that's another thing town transfers cost Yaaaaaaay to much they would need to be lower to be worth it and people did make these apps every once and a while

Hmm... as to applications, either personally think andrew could do this: log original owner, if someone other than that person applies, leave a spot in applications questions saying"are you the original owner of the town?" If not, check region info, and if the original owner os removed approve the app... yes/no?

i think rabids idea would work better then the apps like we had before but instead of andrew having to log the owners there can app that u fill out where the old owner confirms it and removes him self 0 cost.

What I don't understand is why it used to cost the same as the town plus all the transfer fees to shift ownership of a town.

I think a town should be treated like a car. When someone owns a car and has the title, all it costs to change the ownership of the car is the cost of changing the name the title is under at the DMV. The car has been paid for, so the new owner doesn't need to pay the dealership for the car again. Instead he pays the government to have formal ownership with the same consent from the current owner.

This is how I believe changes in town ownership should be treated.

**Edit: Also I've heard of people asking how are they supposed to get rid of a town they no longer want if they can't be moved and ownership cannot be shifted. The reason why people would want to get rid of a town is because they do not want it in the location that it is. It makes sense to be able to give a town to another person for the transfer fee plus whatever price the player wishes to charge for their town.

When someone applies for a new town they are charged based on how many towns they currently own, not how many they have purchased in the past. Is that not right?

I know some people that this would benefit :). Dunno what the costs were b4, but perhaps they should be lower so that people actually take advantage of the feature. It makes sense that the cost should be less than town #1/mayor cost.

The only additional fee before was about 20k... It wasn't much. People just didn't find the point in buying a town pre-placed for the same amount it would cost them to place their own... and that small fee.

Wait, so the player was required to pay for an additional town #X, plus the 20k fee? Yeah, I could see no one wanting to do that. Couldn't you just charge a flat fee less than an additional town? Yes they would be getting an additional town for less, but like you said, it is pre-placed/pre-built. Could any problems arise from doing that? The only thing I can think of is if someone intentionally bought pre-owned towns in order to get additional towns cheaper, then kicked everyone from town, destroyed everything, and resold all the plots. :laugh:

What I'm saying is perhaps they could get charged less than they normally would for additional town #X since they aren't getting a fresh piece of land etc.
