fair enough, id love to be able to purchase a beacon for haste 2! would be so much easier!
why do they cause so much lag and why would jump boost actually be an issue? -

Anywho, lag isn't a major issue, it's basically like furnaces. Furnaces preform check to see if they need to smelt, so they're basically always asking the question "do I need to smelt?" Beacons ask the question "do I need to shine?" by checking if it has gem blocks under it. They're not an issue if you have a reasonable amount around, but if you were to make a building completely out of beacons, they'd be removed.
Thus the suggestion I linked above to remove the features, but let beacons be placable. -

i don't get why haste2 is that much of an issue though? it'd help us noobs who can't afford star tools

star tools will still be way quicker! and right, whats your point about melons? who genuinely wants melons anyway? noone, surely the market would be better using diamonds and ores and stuff then melons?

this is my point, they'd be quicker then haste 2! i still personally don't think your making a good enough argument as to not having the beacons?

Melon farming with Haste II would break the economy. There's a reason the prices are what they are. Doubling the profits they make would be silly.
Regardless, this server is about hard work. Other than the pay2win part. The only things you can get to help speed any process is by donating or voting. That won't change. I don't agree with it, but it's too integrated in the server to change at this point.
