I decided to handle this appeal because I handled the grief report and imposed the ban, and because the grief here actually did follow a peculiar pattern. However, I fail to see how you could possible have accidentally failed to replant 507 separate cocoa beans in this context. Allow me to demonstrate:

These were typical spots in a very widespread grief of a major public farm. The 507 missing cocoa beans, every single one of which I checked by hand, were scattered throughout an extensive portion of the farm. As you can see in the images, when you were replanting, you must have been constantly missing spots, whether because you were rushing or just careless. However, because this is a four-block-tall farm, you had to have been aware you were doing it. If you were replanting by flying or running horizontally, each time you swung back to replant another row, you would have seen the gaps you were leaving in the previous rows, over and over again. If you were replanting by a slower method, there is no way you could have missed gaps like this 507 times. Further, you cannot claim a lack of familiarity with this farm or the need to replant, because virtually every spot you griefed still had previous logs where you had harvested and replanted it properly. So this appeal is transparently less than sincere.

It is also almost completely focused on the impact of this ban on you, rather than the impact of your actions on the owners of the farm or on the other players who use it. Given the lack of consideration you often show for others in your global chat behavior, I am reluctant to resolve this in response to an appeal which shows so little awareness or concern as to your impact on others. Oddly for an appeal like this, you neither apologized for your behavior, nor made any statement that you would not do it again (hint, hint). Instead, you seem to be trying to justify it.

However, I am sympathetic to your concern about the valuable items in your inventory, so I won't give this appeal the response it presently deserves -- which is a flat denial. Instead, I would like you to post a response explaining to me why we should grant the appeal. As of the moment I type this sentence, I am also in-game, and you have been offline for ... 3 days and 5 hours. You have more than three days before your offline time will impact your inventory, within which to re-post on this thread. Please demonstrate to me that you understand the impact of your actions. Another post like the section quoted above will result in a denial.

Thank you for the more thoughtful response. A review of the archives indicates that this is your first offense of this kind, and so I will impose the standard tempban for Moderate Grief, first offense. You may well have been removed from this particular town already, though, which is within the prerogative of the owners in response to moderate or greater grief. If they chose to remove you, that was their right.

That being said, you clearly did research the relevant rules before you posted the original appeal, so I won't suggest that you review them during the tempban. I look forward to seeing you back on the server tomorrow.
