I liked Fury, I would like to give him another chance.

 

There's a phrase I've heard in the legal world that fits in this situation: beyond a reasonable doubt. And right now, I haven't seen anything that tells me Fury wasn't involved, beyond a reasonable doubt.

My red flags:
1. Knowing about the signs, but not attempting to stop it as a moderator.
2. The loan to obble and the subsequent tardiness that lead to the initial incident
3. The comments regarding the eff7, joking or not
4. The almost-picturesque presence in the beginning of the video
5. Instances of brushing the issue off, saying it's "no big deal" or "it's not hurting anyone"

The thing is here, this sets a precendence. This is the largest business collapse in ECC history. Sure, there may have been no "cooking the books", but it was a significant failure nonetheless. This also sets a standard for future loan and investments businesses. So, to be quite honest, there is a lot riding on this. People's businesses, loans, and and personal finances may hinge upon this appeal.

Fury, this isn't based on you as a person, this is based on the evidence I have seen. I have full faith you are a good person. My interactions have been nothing but positive. But until there's some sort of evidence beyond a reasonable doubt, I'm not so sure you should be unbanned.



The staff leaking is another issue, an issue completely irrelevant from the core discussion.

 

Im just flabbergasted at what you and your people did im not angry anymore angry people arent always wise.Me and my wife treesa are both very shocked at your actions i bet you thought scamming people was funny because its not happening but theres a new sensation and fabulous creation a danceable solution to your little revolution and i hope your happy i thought you were a good member of staff at the start but then you lost the plot just like you lost my trust even if you do come back who is going to like you.

You were once one of the finest members of staff i knew but now you have lost your reputation n Row you cant even fight your way out of a paper bag. Its just so sad to see someone go like you although you werent very good at being a staff member always giving obble a push start in everything even being a little bit of a sidekick to him when you were in a higher position he played you. Dont mix with the wrong type and i highly recommend changing your name it doesnt make any sense at all just like what you did

In conclusion i think you have alot of thinking to do because you know that you had something to do with this situation. YOU JUST THINK YOUR SUDDENLY THE OWNER OF VOE BUT YOU'RE NOT ACT YOUR AGE OR ILL MAKE YOU ACT YOUR AGE THINK ABOUT YOUR ACTIONS AND CHANGE FOR ONCE BEHAVE AND

Scamming:
I'm not sure on whether or not you were involved in scamming people. A lot is unknown. Therefore I think you should be punished as a scammer. Not a perma, most scammers don't get perma'd. But a decent temp at least.

Staff chat leak:
As for the whole staff chat leaking thing I couldnt care less.

Staff Abuse:
Honestly, I just think you were a terrible staff member. You made so many mistakes everywhere on everything including this incident where you did nothing. I don't think it was purposeful abuse. So no punishment for this but you shouldn't be given staff again.

Finally, Questions:
I would appreciate it if you could go as in depth as possible and try not to give a couple word responses as this is a pretty big incident.

- Whats running through your mind as you read these signs? How do you take them as a joke even from a friend? One of the signs reads "Words make VOE steal loans."
- How was your loan managed? What does bookkeeping entail exactly?
- Why did you stand there in the video? I don't believe the afk story. I don't think anyone does so please just answer truthfully.

You didn't scam. The stuff you leaked from staff chat was LITERALLY NOTHING. Everyone needs to stop acting like its something majorly important. If a staff member was doing a loan and took a screen shot and there was a staff member that said lol in staff chat, and thats in the screen shot, if they made a complaint and people saw that would you really be annoyed with them for posting it?? Just Leave. I've never seen any staff abuse from you. I dont see you do much tho. What if you did tell mods obble was planning on doing this; you loose your best mate and staff wont do anything anyway as they couldn't have proved anything from them signs other than a temporary leave. If you told mods that obble was going to burn that eff7, how would they know he was actually going to do it untill he did.
VOE - It was a good concept. But flawed. Which is a shame.
Fury, I feel you are a good person and you souldn't listen to what these people are saying, you were caught in the cross fire.
If this appeal is denied, I'd suggest you find a new game/hobby to get into, and maybe come back here in the summer when you have lots of spare time. Good luck with this appeal. I think you deserve to be un-banned.
p.s. It would be a nice gesture if you agreed to donate 600k/whatever the rest of your payment to obble is, to MCH's scam relief fund.

I'm not exactly sure what has happened in all this with the VoE or whatever, but if fury is banned for leaking staff chat, many super mods and even a former game admins should also be banned. I have seen quite a few screenshots of staff chat leaked posted by staff members. I think he should be unbanned if he was banned for leaking staff chat, and found to have no involvement in the scamming of the VoE. If he is banned for being involved in the VoE but did not take the money himself or steal from others, there are a lot of other staff members that should also be banned. Just saying... It just doesn't seem equal punishment if he is the only one to be banned. I personally find fury's claims to be legitimate, and I think he should be unbanned.

 

Unfortunately as soon as you loaned money from Obble, he had you from my understanding

I personally agree with Lady that there has been quite a few times where I'm unsure how you ended up at the decision you ended up at on some complaints.
It's not my decision to say whether you deserve to return, but there is certainly no smoke without fire and you have hurt a lot of people.

 

+1 Return from Ban, -1 allowed to be staff.

I have read a good chunk of the notes from people and had to stop as they got monotonous. It's hard being involved with partners. I have refused several people on business ventures because I didn't want to be liable for anyone else. I have had minimal to no interaction with @FuryFudge as a player or moderator so this is all looking at the whole picture. I think this raises a good point for all and any future and current businesses and future contracts outside of individuals.

So, I believe the ban should be revoked. I think if @FuryFudge was part of this he wouldn't bother appealing. However I don't think staff should ever be a possibility in the future.

I think all partners should take responsibility financially and go mine the heck out of the world to pay back those who invested (or lost tools).

EDIT: I think it may be a good idea to auction off all the towns he owns as well to help pay off the investors with the exception of 1 town, perhaps his mayor town, and any products in vaults perhaps. I'm pretty sure they sold off all of Bernie Madoff's stuff. Just an idea.

 

I think you're being far too extreme. Yes he may have done wrong but I don't think rolling back his towns etc. is going to help anyone.

My opinion to andrew is that Fury should be unbanned, not be allowed to apply for staff for at least 6 months as lady said and I think @FuryFudge should do all he can to repay the vicitims- even though he wasn't directly involved in the scamming, I do think that it would help Fury to at least gain back some respect.

 

I'm going to be straight up honest now: knowing all these (cruel) things that obble was doing and not reporting them WHILE YOU WERE A STAFF MEMBER is completly messed up. Honestly, I used to like you a lot; I thought you were a cool guy, until everything was exposed. I'm sorry fury, but I just do not believe in you. I'm very disappointed.

Anyway, Fury I have known you for awhile. I always thought you were a cool guy and you were good at your job, apparently. Honestly, now that everything was exposed, I don't know anymore. You were hiding something very wrong that a very powerful player was doing, even when you were a staff member. I am extremely disappointed in you and I don't deem you as worthy of being unbanned, in my opinion. Very disappointing. Good luck anyway fury.

 

@FuryFudge made a stupid mistake, as we all have in the past. Personally, I trust fury and will continue doing so I don't think it's fair to point fingers at Fury since this seems like he had almost nothing to do with Obble's decision, as for the staff "leaking", that revolves around a stupid mistake.

Edit- I typed this too soon. I was looking this over more, and although I still think Fury should be unbanned (as everyone deserves another chance sometimes), he should help repay users scammed by VoE, since he IS PART OF it, and New owner of VoE (if I'm correct).


As for me trusting Fury, I still do trust him enough for information to be shared. It really is a shame that you let something so easily preventable happen because he was your friend fury. Even if I had a friend who was doing something illegal, I will immediately report them for their benefit as well as others'. Using the "friend card" is in no way excusable. I hope this won't happen again to anyone or to Fury again.

The Money:
So you were a bookkeeper. Awesome. Probably shouldn't have given out that one loan though. Kinda blows through your whole 'I never touched money' thing. As far as the loan he took out from Obble? Plenty of people give extensions on loans. It shouldn't be an issue that he got extensions. The issue lies with the fact that Obble had the money to pay back ldw116's investment and didn't, but also that ldw116 was in debt and could have just cancelled out his loan with the investment but instead chose to cause a scene.

The Signs/Standing in video:
As far as Fury might have known Obble could have said that he was making the video well in advance of quitting. That would explain the 'trolly' aspect if they had already discussed properly closing down the business/handing it over and returning peoples money. The 'scam' signs might have seemed a funny joke as they wouldn't have scammed if they stuck to a plan they had. Calling out people? Well there's always gonna be hate when money is involved and there has been more than enough crap thrown at VoE by certain users. And if Obble was quitting, why not call people out? Wouldn't matter anyway. Standing in the video? Again. Could have been told they were making the video well in advance and been asked to stand there for a bit. And the lava at the end? Well it was behind a wall. Might not have known. I don't really see fault with this.

The eff7:
Yes he was staff. Yes Obble admitted to an 'accident'. Staff, to my limited knowledge at least, cannot take action on something like that until a complaint has been filed. Then a payment plan can be set up to make up for it. I really don't fault him for that.

The Chat Stupidity:
As staff if you are a part of a business even in the slightest way you should never joke about things such as 'That's what he get's for messing with VoECC'. It just doesn't make you look good in the least little bit. As far as staff chat leaks, what, can staff not be in staff chat and take screenshots? Even as evidence of something happening in general chat for fear of OMG YOU LEAKED STAFF CHAT?!? Now yes, he leaked something SPECIFIC to staff chat, but you also have to look at the bigger picture. He shouldn't have done it. It's over.

What should be done now?

• Fury should be allowed to come back to the server.

• Fury should be made to pay back his loan, NOT to the individual people whose investments make up his loan, but rather to help the relief fund. This is to avoid further drama with individuals wanting their money paid back first.

• Fury should not participate in any money/bank/investment businesses in the future.

• Fury should not be allowed to take out personal loans for x amount of time.

• Fury should not be allowed to give out personal loans for x amount of time.

• Fury should not be a staff member for at least a good while.

What should NOT happen:

• Fury should NOT have his towns taken away/world edited. This is completely unjustified in my eyes.
