He does have a point. 500 seems a bit high. My new price will be 200 per tool. 500 for 3. 1k for unlimited. I think this is a fair price.
I got commands+ simply because I didn't trust anyone to repair my melon sword. I never really paid for repairs before I got it anyway. I usually tell people to just pay me what they want to. Some pay me like 100 some have paid me 1k. I personally will never use any of my donations for profits from others. I have invested $120 in fly+ but I don't use it to make money off others at all. The money isn't really an aspect to me. But sorry to say I will not raise my prices. If I feel like doing free repairs I will do them. I'm not losing anything doing them. It's not like I'm that super busy on the server.
my question is then what is the point of playing on a ECONOMY server if not to make money and get ahead ?
Interesting answers really, all over the shop. I don't have a fixed price, it depends on the situation, what I am doing , who is asking, bunch of things. Might be I just fancy a chat lol.
Honestly, I know I represent the minority here, as I do all donation services for tips. So, I'll be putting up the counter argument. Firstly, a universal e-repair/anvil combo price is unfortunately not going to happen. The reason the Extcommand prices dropped so far from what they were months ago is because of a few players who "undercut" each other, in search of better profit. This is purely business, and this mentality will not go away. Also, you've got players like myself who aren't here to make a profit. Instead, I do my donation services for tips to help other people, not make money. This does tend to hurt the e-repair business, but I have no intention of ever changing this. What I do find amusing about this, is I'll get a few kind people everyday who will give me a ridiculous tip, which makes the ereps "worth it" for me. Finally, I'm just going to say that buying Extcommands+ to make money is a bit of a obtuse idea. I realize that you guys feel the need to be rewarded for paying $100 to the server, but I do NOT feel like this should be at the detriment of other players without Extcommands and other donation features. Think about it, you're trying to subject other players to pay $500 every 1,500-4,500 blocks they destroy. There's a lot of players starting up here that simply cannot afford that, and will have a much more difficult time advancing if they did. Adding to this, I can do an e-repair service in 10-30 seconds, and I'm by no means fast with them. If you do the math, you charge $200 for one tool, and $500 for a trip (which is the going price atm) you are making a substantial amount of money. $7/second for one tool if it takes 30 seconds, or $17/second for a trip if it only takes 30 seconds. That is more than melon farming or mining with an Eff 7 by far, and I think it's a perfectly fair price. The more efficient you are with them, the more money you'll make. TL;DR - There's a number of reasons why this won't work, read above if you care to know why. You shouldn't really be expecting to rake in a lot of money because of Extcommands+ anyway, if you can figure out how to do them faster, you'll make a substantial profit.
No I agree we don't want to make alot of money but some return on out investment other than our own use would be nice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I purchased extcommands+ for me to mainly save time. I used to have 5 max pump axes and 5 eff5 picks and paid $4-500 per repair trip most of the time and always felt that was fair but sometimes had to wait for quite a while for repair since I used only trusted players and never advertised for someone to repair my tools. I have had many who offered to repair my tools for free but have always offered a tip. And I have had several who have sent the money back to me. That being said, I made the decision to follow users like Falconaire in regards to my own offerings of donation features. I do not charge for erepairs but always appreciate tips (for my time, not the donation feature). Yes, this is a hardcore economy server and I support making money but also believe that I have made many long term friends even while being generous. I will say that if I see someone asking for an erepair, I will tend to respond better to someone who offers some monetary compensation instead of those that always look for something free. That can be expected from a builder just starting out but Residents and above should know enough to offer some form of payment. I do not believe that you will ever be able to make set prices stick. Does anyone else remember a couple of months ago when a couple of players kept dropping the prices down all the way to free and then one of them started offering to pay to do erepairs? It was quite funny at the time and I believe you would see that happen again if you try to set prices.
That's for my Eff5 Unb3 pumpkin axe. I'm not sure exactly how much I make off each use, that was just a rough estimate. I have ADD, it's just about impossible for me to run through countless lines of pumpkins for extended periods of time.
Lol I know the feeling I can't stand farming at all so I don't theres lots of other ways to make money Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've kept my rates at $200/item and $5000 unlimited ever since I got e-repairs forever ago. The amount you can charge increases or decreases with your own reputation as well. People might pay me more since they know I won't run off with their tools... and having the repair shops and services I do was one of the main reasons I got Commands+ in the first place.
chewychunga Ok, $100 for 10 sec is 600 per minute, whtch is 36000 per hour. How can you make more than that again?
The difference between that logic and farming is that from your logic you would have to find somebodies tool to repair every 10 seconds for an hour. That is nearly impossible to happen. At max you would make like 8k from e repair an hour.
This is the same boat I am in, I could care less about the economy half the time. I only pay attention to it when I want to build something and am too lazy or unable to collect the supplies for myself. When I started on ECC I was all about farming all the time and making money to rank up and all but then I got tired of that. Instead I changed focus to building things. Its a lot more fun to me and I could care less if I am rich or poor. Just because it is an economy server does not mean that you have to work yourself to death trying to become rich.
sigh... ya know that shout you shouted... "I am the most annoying user on ECC and complain about everything" it really is true.
At no point was anger an emotion in that response. Maybe you agree the one that is angry... One could infer that by your ad hominem attack on my argument
Guys lets keep the conversation to the topic of the thread, do not edge each other any further please.
