The Department of Staff has not endorsed or authorized this post Well, to start with 'harsh topics and edgy subjects' are still definitely covered by the touchy subject rule; As for swearing; I think you'd honestly find that the users that swear the most are the younger users themselves. It was allowed (to my understanding) due to the difficulty and subjectivity in moderating it. What one person considers a swear another would not. even if we had an established list of 'swear words' this can be easily circumvented. Say we banned 'shit'. people would say 'shite' 'shat' 'chit'.
No idea on the actual amount. I think i'm faster now, but my spelling (which is sooo bad) is being ignored for speed. The wc is insane as staff... No more using /r for me!!! From BEFORE I became staff? the whole current staff team, @Bashdash100 - he was MY offpeak mod!, @oreo1227 & @pokemon9508 - Miss you boys! And of course @oootopia who must have another special mention cause she is so damn good!
Ofc i have. And that's the only time I found my job as a staff member Ugh @SimsElemental @Krobkins @oootopia and everyone in thefam.
I think my favourite users of all time have been @lapkingkn, @Starleana, @oootopia (because oootie pie) and (sorry) ChadMaxx, whom is perma'd. Honestly, when I started playing ecc, I was a SLOW typer. Like literally 15 wpm. Over the course of the 3 years i've played I went from 15 wpm to 120 wpm. I honestly doubt being a staff has made me any faster, (except in repeat sentences such as inchat warnings). But I do have to say the wc's have increased and the severity of the wc's has gone up ;-; Definitely some oldies I remember, Revanrose, and to name a few former active users, @pokemon9508 and @oreo1227, I miss you guys Of course I have always looked up to @ClarinetPhoenix and @Nicit6. P.S: Great Questions guys ;3
Easiest? I wouldn't say anything about being a GA is necessarily easy, but the builder+ section usually takes less time than the other sections. Oh yeah, it increased quite a bit. Some of it though is person specific. Mad is faster than a lot of other mods XD I won't say that wc's increased, they just became more noticed by people. I felt it a lot at the beginning of my staff career more so than now, but every now and then an issue pops up with no precedent. Being on staff can be stressful, but it all depends on how you manage and react to stress that matters.
When I first became mod the two main people who I went to for help were @7amoodw and @Ndm57dcraft . Since becoming SMod @Imaginex has been hella cool in helping me whenever I had questions and has always been a good friend to talk to
Yes, there have been many many times I have questioned my capability. Confidence isn't born overnight and judgement isn't learned on the spot. Questioning one-self is one way to always challenge yourself to do better, examine a situation differently, ask yourself "How can I do it better next time?". Taking new situations head-on can be daunting and stressful, but the way I see it if there is no precedent then one cannot be wrong on the first go. One can simply learn how to handle it better for next time. Better to just head right in and do it. Some action is better than no action. Staffing can also definitely be stressful. I just make sure I fall back to what makes me relax and make sure I don't lose sight of that. Honestly, my typing is much faster than it was a couple years ago when I first started playing. Anyone who has been with me on TS and heard my typing can attest to how quick it really is. I doubt I would have such speed without being Staff. As for the difference. I couldn't give you a number, I don't sit typing tests, they make me far too impatient and I always type my thoughts faster than what I'm being told to type.
Would you rather be a good singer in a bad band, or a bad singer in a good band? If you were able to have x-ray vision and hearing, would you take it if you weren't allowed to turn it off? Imagine you have a bowl, a spoon, a freezer full of any and all ice cream flavors you can think of, and a pantry full of toppings. How do you make your ice cream? And, of course: Coke or Pepsi?
To answer the first. I enjoy singing, I would rather be a good singer. I would revel in my own enjoyment of music and not let my peers drag me down. If I recognized such talent in myself and was above the band I was in, I would just leave. Make for myself better. To answer the 2nd. No I wouldn't. I would see and hear more than I wanted to. While I'm naturally very curious in nature, there are just some things I don't need to see and hear in life. If I couldn't turn it off, I wouldn't take it. To answer the third. Just give me strawberry shortcake ice cream or moose tracks and call it a day. I don't need any fancy toppings, just one of my favorite flavors. For the 4th. Pepsi, I still drink Coke, but I definitely prefer Pepsi.
I don't know if i'm allowed to ask this, @goblizz But i'd like to pose a question to the staff team, out of my own curiosity also I think other people would like to know this: Give us a list of your top 5 favourite artists/groups/composers and top 5 favourite songs (atm or of all time). My own list: 1.Rihanna, 2.Jerry Goldsmith, 3. Sia, 4. Troye Sivan, 5.Of Monsters and Men 1.Consideration (Rihanna), 2. Piece by Piece (Kelly Clarkson), 3. Suburbia (Troye Sivan), 4. Ilia's Theme (Jerry Goldsmith), 5. Crystals (Of Monsters and Men.
Bad singer in a good band. I'd take it. nutella and other Kinder productucs, after eight vanilla and whetever i see that seems fancy. Coke

Donate for other users/EcoDollars. To be fair, you didn't stipulate whether it needed IRL dollars Bad singer in a good band. Depends on your definition of x-ray. But if I couldn't turn it off, probably not xP Any Blue Bunny Ice Cream with Strawberry drizzle and a few marshmallows. Coke.
I would say that kind of thing typically depends on the task itself. Personally (and unpopular opinion here, probably) I don't think ECC was ever "child-friendly". It can be family friendly in genre but realistically - ECC is a niche server. The type of gameplay we offer doesn't appeal to children. Look at our playerbase, the age range skews upwards. Even before the things you mentioned changed, "children" (0-12) we're fairly few and far between compared to the rest of the players. It really comes down to personal preference, not a demographics issue. Does bad singer in a good band mean I'm just a bad singer, or a bad singer as the lead vocalist? If it's the former I'll gladly choose bad singer in a good band, I'll just be on drums.
I guess everyone has experienced that while being a staff member. It can be difficult from time to time. We're all human (at least I hope that), so it is natural that problems and complicated sitations can occur. Fortunately, we can always ask other staff members if we have problems or questions. It also helps with the situations from your first question. *Starts calculating radiation injuries caused by extended X-ray exposition* Uhhh... probably not. My eyes and ears are too valuable for that. Okay, this will be difficult... they are all pretty close. 1. Pyotr Tchaikovsky. 2. Ludwig van Beethoven. 3. Wolfgang A. Mozart. 4. Antonín Dvořák 5. Giuseppe Verdi. 1. Ouverture 1812 (Pyotr Tchaokovsky). 2. The Great Gate of Kiev (Modest Mussorgsky, from Pictures at an Exhibition). 3. Piano Sonata No. 11, 3rd Movement (Mozart). Known as Rondo alla turca, the Turkish March. 4. Bacchanale (Camille Saint-Saëns). 5. Actually not classical music: The Entertainer (Scott Joplin).
