Your response to my third point clearly shows that you are a horrible person who seeks to overthrow the free world. Furthermore, you probably hate cute puppies.
Cats rule and Dogs drool. No really they do. Drool all over the place. bleh. Ignore that profile pic behind the curtain. The great and powerful... ah forget it. I for one welcome our new old staff overlords.
Sorry... This stuff is starting to become too common and really getting kind of embarrassing from a staff perspective. Not to make this about politics but why even make anything public in the first place. Just makes it appear as though there are issues within the staff team and in the end now just continues to create more unneeded drama. Whatever happened... well happened and was resolved. I don't see how this post was necessary. Nothing against anyone.. but again a bit of a black eye for ECC as a whole yet again. I just hope we can get things back in order and get ECC back to where it should be as a server. Just my opinion.
I think everyone needs to just be happy two of, if not the, the best staff members are back. And let's be honest, we've never really got the full truth about anything so why except it? Welcome back
@ajp79 I can't speak for the original poster, but I think this was an attempt to listen to the community. Previously, when staff had left and came back so quickly, there may have been a cry for "transparency" and a wonder of "what is happening". Plots emerge etc etc.. The poster was trying to be honest and clear on what happened. They wanted to prevent any rumor-mongering. They also felt that it would not be rigth to speak about things that the community was not privy to. Like interstaff issues or things of that nature. Again, I do not mean to put words in their mouth. I just think this was an honest attempt to "clear the air" and stay drama free. We just have some... very blunt players who are diverse and see things that others may have missed. Hopefully we all can agree that the intentions in this thread were all well meaning, even if unpolished. We are always a work in progress. (Me included).
My point is that with recent events there continues to be a form of uneasiness regarding how the server is governed. Situations like this only fuel it further. Granted I may be aware of certain things that others are not, but there needs to be some common sense used. Either you make everything about the situation public to prevent rumors, etc... or don't say anything at all period. All this does is further create what has in theory hurt the server enough already in recent weeks. Again.. I have nothing against anyone and have a lot of respect for both of them. I was on staff with dew myself once. I'm sure it wasn't even anything worth mentioning to begin with. But without the truth rumors begin and possibly maybe some distrust. Just think there should be a bit more control on how things are handled and communicated when it involves an admin and a GA.
I personally do not expect or require any explanation of any staff issues. These are players who have dedicated so much of their time and effort for all of us to have an excellent server experience. Things happen - Issues come up everyday - How about just appreciating all that staff does for us and not worrying about the whys and wherefores. It may come as a surprise but every single staff member is player of minecraft - oh and they are are human beings with feelings as well.
This.... Personally im rather glad that these two are back, as they have put a lot of time and effort into making the server a better place. So what if they resigned Friday, then regreted it literally 2-3 days later. Why should they be denied the request after being apart of staff for so long and have helped out so much.... And why would it matter knowing the reason as to why they had left, it's in the past move on, in the end it won't change anything. Frankly, I'm surprised the staff team hasn't came to the conclusion of locking this yet, seeing how the point was addressed there really is no reason for it to be left open any longer, besides to start flame wars.
So .... people (including new people like me) say "wow, we need more openness and communication when there's drama." A situation arises, and the staff involved have some drama, and decide to be open and communicate about it. And we say, "no, you didn't do the openness and communication RIGHT." Huh? (personally, I think this whole thread is a healthy exercise)
Look at the people complaining.... have any of them been staff? Lolno. Unless you know what it's like to be in their shoes, stop complaining about pointless shit. You all should be glad they were even mature enough to say they were in the wrong. Take it and shut the hell up.
Just because they are staff doesn't mean they are above anyone else lmfao. They are entitled to their opinion, they have the right to say it even if they are wrong. The biggest problem with this server ever was the little amount of mature players who could actually distinguish what the kids, or even just immature adults saw staff like. It's hilarious that as soon as someone criticizes or goes against staff a hoard of other people that take the game and its management way too seriously absolutely throw this one player out. It makes me die in laughter how a sudden outbreak of the opposite side has emerged and all of the other kiss ups simpy panic over a block game xd
Upon Reading this, I was very shocked and appalled to some of the responses that I saw here. Staff don't ever have to tell other people, besides phys (or andrew in the past) the reason for their resignations. Dewsy gave a brief explanation of it, but choosing not to go into details because he realized that it was a mistake. This "6 sentence piece of nothing" is actually something. Not sure how many people remember specific instances, but some people have been demoted, promoted, then nothing. No explanation was given for that, a time where the fate of those staff members was up in questions. Quite simply, the purpose of creating this thread was to make sure that the reason for their resignations was not affiliated with events that occurred a month or so prior to their resignations. If you remember, andrew troll banning revan or something... that enraged the community so much. Dewsy wanted to make sure that people didnt react to his reinstatement similar to the way that people reacted to the ban. Similar to as Ive said above. "the purpose of creating this thread was to make sure that the reason for their resignations was not affiliated with events that occurred a month or so prior to their resignations" As for reinstatements and resignations becoming more common; resignations are bound to occur due to school, real life, etc. A month ago events unfolded where people simply decided to leave this community because of the actions of some people. Staff are people too, they are capable of thoughts and feelings of resentment for leaving and the courage to return to staff if they do leave. People need to realize that sometimes emotions run high, and improper judgements can leave to incorrect choices. This "embarrassment" and that youre claiming is becoming more and more commonplace is simply the results of the mistrusting of staff based on the previous month. All Dewsy was trying to do was to apologize for causing confusion, and trying to restore faith in the staff hands. Meanwhile, Im glad that @Dewsy92 made this thread. Sure it doesnt involve the specific reason of resignation, but he's trying to make things better and less confusing for everyone, and for that I am thankful.
