So, anvils are controversial on the server. Either way, about half the community is going to be angry about the decision to keep or get rid of anvils in the upcoming update. I think the best way to do it is to keep it with extcommands+ However, make it so that you hold an anvil in your hand, but instead of placing it when you right click, it opens up the GUI instead, thus making it so only people with extcommands+ can use, so that the $100 usd feature they purchased can make them even more money. Furthermore, it keeps anvils away from the general public.

I think taking anvils out would be wrong, simply because, it is is part of the game, we are all here to play minecraft, anvils come with that, but obviously there is no way everyone can have access to anvils and still keep everyone happy. So i think the above suggestion may be a good way to sort it.
