+1, the only downside I can see is if this would be too much work for the SA/GA team. That doesn't seem to be a problem right now, but maybe I'm wrong.

 

This is a great idea however, I see a couple issues.

Having done a parkour competition in one of my towns before, I can ensure you that disabling fly alone, does not stop people from cheating; options such as '/j', '/tp' etc, still remain an issue.

If you're wanting to host a competition of some sort in your own town, I'd recommend speaking to @ClarinetPhoenix maybe via forum PM to see if she can help you setup something.

Usually a quick message to the SA team can sort out adding special town flags to an area for events, as I have somewhat done in the past.

By keeping it as a case by case basis (as opposed to a general app) , it can be pretty much custom what can be added, as with SA town flags a whole variety of things can be enabled / disabled (i.e. disabling certain commands, mcmmo, etc, not just flying)

I'm all for making it more known however that yes, things like this can, and should, be doable.

 

The amount of towns which would have nofly generally, and not invincibility, multiplied by the probability of user without tombstone or good armor falling to their death after randomly flying into a town is so small that its not a serious consideration in this case.

If you fall down when fly is enabled, you wont die, so thats not an issue

 

-1 because of this. Even with no /fly, /j, /tpc, etc, I still found a way to cheat the most recent parkour (I reported it and didnt share/use it to win). This won't necessarly solve anything with this method.

 

Tbh, to could disable these cmds aswell should be a part of the towncontrol feature

 

Using this to stop cheating will never work, there are already numerous ways to bypass even the most strict worldguard flags.

I'm reminded of what united said when he denied the suggestion to further restrict trolls. People will always find a way to bypass if they want to.

Still +1, but only because people don't deserve to fly in my towns :p

 

As I mentioned, I found a way to still cheat even if we block those commands. Won't solve anything
