-1 we’ve had enough overpowered tools

 

it doesnt actually change what it does. It would be cosmetic level.

 

Well I do understand the suggestion, tho for now I'm pretty sure those with the feat will only upgrade L1 / L2 tools for profit reasons (so it won't change anything in short terms)

However in few months - when L2 and L3 will be spread over the market, and when they will have less value - people with the feat might start thinking about comestic tool. So maybe in few months the suggestion will be a solution.

However, until then, we might find another solution, a better one perhaps. So for now there is no need to add this atm, since it will only impact players behaviour in some weeks / months (Or at least I think so).
Personally I would rather 0 this, so for now we explore all possibilities and maybe come back to this suggestion in few weeks if we haven't found something better

I don't really see the point of this, would the person buying the tool know what level tool they are actually getting? I don't see the benefit of this whatsoever, if purely for cosmetic reasons.

 

-1 purely on the basis that it could limit future design (maybe in the future we'll see L4 upgrades that also require a cost, who knows)

 

-1 for three reasons:

1.) not needed apart for cosmetic

2.) could bar future plans for the tools (even if the plans aren’t created yet)

3.) I can see someone troll sell a L5 pickaxe and claim it is better than an L3, which would be considered a false or troll sale (even if all parties didn’t know the cap was 3)

 

I hate it when I make $40mil to buy a tool but don't understand the magic tier system yet

 

Maybe they will, maybe they won't. It's entirely possible andrew could release L4+ tools that require wizard as well as an item/ecd cost to upgrade. It wouldn't be nerfing wizard since it's not like anyone is buying wizard hinging on future L4 upgrades (which you reject the premise of).

Is it something andrew/administration would want to do? Short of them commenting directly, we can't know. Obviously if this was in place, they wouldn't be able to do it.

If future actual game design decisions are going to be limited, then I'm against adding a pointless cosmetic change.

 

Andrew is super secretive for future plans. Nobody even knew wizard was going to exist until it was dropped.

 

Just to add on to my earlier comment, why would someone waste their magic command, which is very expensive and in demand, for what is in reality +1 on the number they already have?

I still do not see the point in having a L100 tool, wasting all of those magic commands.
