In Game Name: JodyPalmerWhat part of EcoCityCraft is this suggestion for: All Main ServersShort title for your suggestion: ECD-USD-exchangeWhat are you suggesting: What do you guys think about a ECD (Eco-Citycraft Dollars) -exchange. A part of the website, where players can sell ECD for USD. I have played the game Second Life, they had Linden-dollars as ingame currency. They have an option on their site to auction or sell L$ to other players. This gives a whole new dimention to the game. People can already buy ECD, but there is no option to sell them back to other players. It could be beneficiant for the ECC-crew as well, since for instance 100K ECD could be bought for like 25 USD, and sold for like 23 USD, making the server 2 USD. Prices will depend on demand in an auction. When you want to get rid of your ECD's, you could sell/offer them cheaper then the previous player. If you are eager to buy them, you can offer more then the highest bidder, to get the first buy. Just like a stock market. Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?: This is a wonderfull addition to the game. It is enormous populair in SeconfLife and is an option for players to earn some real money while playing the game, aswell supporting the servers. The server could charge like 1% or so on every transactionOther information: Plugin or custom addition: One suggestion per form: I Understand.
we just do this in game already; Last i checked 1 usd is going for about 50-60k per. We just advertise asking to buy gc
We already allow the trading of ECD for USD. You can ask to buy/sell GC's in exchange for ECD or ask someone to buy you a certain feature. The conversion rate fluctuates too much for it to be set on the store, people were buying 120k/USD a couple of days ago and now they are set more around 60-70k/USD so it would be very awkward to keep updating the conversion rates.
Yes, that's true. But doing so, one can only reach the people that are online at that moment and even limited to those who are following the chat at htat moment. Demand will not be very high and offers limited. This results in great difference in price, like you already mentioned. Wouldn't it be great, when you can put your ECD up for auction on a site, like a stock on the stockmarket. Then the exchangerate will be more stable, and you reach EVERY player who wants to sell, buy or trade ECD, everyone can at any time buy or sell them anywhere, you dont need to be ingame for it then. People could also speculate in buying and selling ECD, like on a stockmarket. That's an extra concept on an economy server. And the serverowner could get 1 or some % off of every transaction. It would be a nice income for you guys too.
Users can advertise in other ways than just in game; we have a trade channel on Discord and we have a trade section on the forums. Besides, if someone is really desperate for a gift card, they will pay whatever price it takes, and if that price sounds good to a buyer, then the server will get much more than 1% of a sale. Personally, I think we should keep the economy centralized and between the players. Yes, the server buys / sells some items technically, but that's to give them a purpose to be traded. (Namely, netherstars, diamonds, emeralds, eggs, etc. which are required for applications. Without these applications, there's no real reason to exchange them with others.) TL;DR / whatever Nixon just said makes no sense: It's a -1 from me. Let's keep the economy laissez-faire.
OH well, just a tought. On SecondLife this works great, it attracts all kind of players, also people who want to make an extra buck, which our ciommunity misses out on right now. If people could come along and invest in features to make an extra buck at the end, could bennefit the whole community. More players, more sales (feautures), more traffic, more fun.. On the other hand, now I think about it. It is not possiblke on this servers, since you can earn money with "/sell hand", that would come directly out of your wallets (server owners). In SeconfLife all money used in the game is injected by players of a little ammount is given by LndenLab when you pay a premium account. That is not the case here, unless you stop the feature to sell to the server. And that bennefits no-one who is playing now, and who is new. So disregard my suggestion
The trading of EcoDollars for store credit (GC's) and features is already a thing, making this in effect already possible without an additional "market" needing implementing.
