I am fully on board with buffing the end and bringing /near back. The end should focus and praise PVP.

Personally, I'm against adding /near to PvP worlds. I remember how well that worked when mining was PvP. However, if we were to add it in, I am absolutely against giving it no limit. The only 'no limit' /near is for GA's+ to my knowledge. If you guys get /near it should still be a 500 block radius. You wanna hunt people? At least work a bit for it :p

It was taken away because they made the end like the nether, useless except for a couple of blocks

Tombstone++ really hit the end hard, it removes the danger completely for pvpers while also making finding anyone in the end less valuable (just because of the chance they have t++).
From a pvpers perspective, the cost of finding someone is too high to be worth it without /near which is where I feel like this idea is coming from.
With that in mind, I don't know if this is the best solution. As I mentioned, making it easier to find people might make the trade-off of time vs possible reward easier for pvpers, but as the farmers have pointed out they can easily be abused. If this change was coupled with a lockout timer (ie you die and cant go back in the end for x amount of time) then I think it would be a more effective solution.
End of the day some kind of risk needs to be added back for players in the end, if losing items is no longer a reliable option then we may need to start being a little more creative.-
