There isn't a right choice. If you want to, really want to, get mayor and toss an app in when Staff Apps open. In the end, the only opinions that matter are the ones you won't get here, and those are that of the current staff.

 

I don't think a correct term would be "toss".

Don't try to memorize them. I would suggest flipping through the ban appeals/complaints section, it may help you pick up rules. Of course you will have to memorize them at some point but I would first suggest getting familiar with the more common ones.

You can always use edit on your post to add something.
As nicit said, you probably won't find the winning opinion here. The player's opinions are all biased and based on popularity. The majority of the time they +1 the people they are familiar with and are popular, much like student council elections. This is why the decisions aren't the players, its very biased and most popular people don't make good staff members.
If you want staff member's opinions than you won't get them. Wait for another staff choice and see who gets picked. Ask a friend what they think the users picked have that you don't and evaluate yourself. If staff doesn't flow naturally for you and being a leader involves memorizing 50 rules I really think you wouldn't like it in the end. I want staff that are serious but have fun with their job and enjoy it. Nobody wants a grumpy old teacher that is in it for the title or because its a popular rank.

You need to be mayor first, then you can apply.

 

There's only two problems with you being a mod
A. I would say looking at the mods now at least 90% of them are president+
B. You're still a resident.
However you are a 9 month veteran which is promising which may get you some points,but still sour not quite there, but keep up the hard work

A.) Not confident in yourself.
B.) You feel you are not ready but want to see what other people think of you.
