Also, @Lehon_ this is an economy server why not get rid of pets, trails, nick, and ctag. You don't realize that sg is entwined with the economy therefore making it a part of the server. As i previously stated, there are people who use that ad their main source or a big source of income.
^^ This basically explains my thoughts on any suggestions related to taking away kits. So -1 to this suggestion because I spend basically all of my time in SG when I am not building my town and it is my main source of income, I get around roughly 40k-50k per day from SG, which is very helpful when paying off any debts quickly. 1 week without kits may not seem like a big deal to most people, but that is a potential 350,000 I have lost for that week. Also, people who have lots of kits, and play SG frequently, have purchased those kits which help support the server and keep it running, so by taking away those kits (for however short amount of time that may be) is pretty much punishing people for donating and supporting the server.
I would say about 95% of my time spent on this server is spent in sg and trust me, kits are annoying I know but kits are part of what keeps this server going. I would rather have kits in sg then no ecc.. Anyways -1, a 25% chance of a no kit game is good enough for me :/
So what if were not donators. I have been a donor on other servers and I know how you feel. However, can we discriminate against non-donators? No. Just because someone hasn't donated doesn't automatically invalidated what they say. I don't think going without kits for a couple of days will "deincentivize" voting. To put this into perspective, just because voting is down for 2 days doesn't mean it is not incentivising. Just because administration hasn't removed them yet doesn't mean they are not going to in the future. Also this one is different from all the others, in the fact that it is a new idea and is temporary Why should you care if you BARELY play. the odds of you logging on to play sg during the no kit period would likely be slim if what you said was accurate. Second it would be the equivalent if sg was down for matience except people could still play. It isn't that big of a deal go without kits for a short period of time. Perhaps people make money off kits but kits are not a guaranteed win. It is like lotto. You don't have a Guarantee of winning with kits. However you do have a gaurentee to make money off mining and other things. Also, those other donations don't affect others like kits do, they don't make people rage, people leave, and people fed up. People donate for other things other then kits. Kuuklekuukoo said that kits account for less then a third of the servers money. There are other ways to make money to get out of debt, especially since sg isn't a guaranteed win. second, there are other ways to make money that can make just as much. and my final words to all here: The money and value of kits will be gone once all the people you guys farm for money are gone, which at the rate your server is losing players won't be long.
There should be some sort of really small kit free period even if it is 6 hours. Now, maybe kits keep the server running and everything and blah blah blah, but one, that's not true because people pay to get water and lava and stuff. Two, survival games isn't survival if you have enchanted leather armor and do 8 hearts to someone per hit even if they have a decent amount of armor isn't survival. Also, if it isn't seven days long, it shouldn't really cause people to loose $350,000. You can still even get some of that back if you played without kits and ran around and depended on the chests. :/ People who support this haven't donated a penny to the server. That's true, but some have also donated. Kits can be so overpowered, its ridiculous. I got iron armor and a diamond sword and died to an invis person with strength and a sharpness STONE sword. Several people are annoyed about kits, regardless whether they have donated or not. Also, ecocitycraft is doing really well. Hundreds of people per day with people who donate hundreds of dollars is actually, believe it or not, good. A good server that I used to love had 45 people online, and that was amazing. So....some small period of time just to be kit free? It's not going to destroy the server. If you are mad, it's because you think you're kits are being taken away, which I don't see how that is.
If a mod would like to edit all of these quotes/arguements into 1 post it would be appreciated. I really wasn't sure how to do that
Couple of things: -You're right, kits aren't a guarenteed win. So, why should they be removed? -Mining/farming isn't as entertaining as SG. -The move/value of kits will remain because people with kits would still face other people with kits. As for making it a smaller time period (a couple of pre-determined hours), that would be a bit different then what this OP suggests as 7 days.
So basically you just hate kits. So there would be 0 way you are looking at this in an unbiased manner. I would love the statistic to see what proportion of donations are from sg I'd say it's around a third. Regardless, there are so many counters to kits, you just have to learn them. We will use your example, listen for footsteps, look for footsteps, look at the entity counter on f3. Once you do all that an invis person is 2-3 shot with an iron sword. And buffer + miq against full iron is at least 3-4 shots. Anyways, as I mentioned before, I don't agree with a full period of no kits. Increase the nokit chance. That i would agree with.
I rarely comment on these threads but I think that I'll leave a comment on this one. First of all, what good will this do? You say that it's to correct sg or something like that, but I can tell you that something like this will make no difference in the long run. All it will do is give us 7 days where kitters are pissed for now having kits, non-sg'ers are pissed at our large teams, and still, hackusations in global every second. SG is broken and this isn't the way to fix it. Sorry. -1
