1 Year!


Exactly one year ago I was playing a game of FIFA. I had conceded a goal I was not happy about and ragequit. Subsequently I searched for another game to play, and the only game that came to mind was minecraft. As offline games don’t appeal to me at all I googled minecraft servers. The server that appealed to me was EcoCityCraft.


After logging in I followed all the signs and read all about the commands you could use. I was astounded, since when did minecraft have lotto, money and hungergames. Because this was completely new to me I decided to try to understand it. I used /kit starter and ventured into the mining world. It was griefed to pieces. Finding a cave to mine in took about 10 minutes. At this point I was oblivious to the whole economy and stored all my minerals in my enderchest. When I left the mining world for the first time I had full iron armour and over 1 stack of iron blocks. Moderators informed me that you can buy pieces of land in other players town. My first message asking to buy a plot was in local chat. I was extremely lucky someone as kind as @trevalynfar would pick me up and show me all the ropes to ECC. If not for trev I may not be here today. He taught me about the chats, about all the ways to make money and showed me how to sell my iron blocks and pay him in exchange for a plot. He was the greatest mayor I could have asked for. He helped with my troubles involving my plot and introduced me to the idea of farming. After learning about farming I saved up 3k and purchased perms to a pumpkin and melon farm. Initially I thought melons were the more profitable but quickly learned pumpkins were. I’d seen this thing in trade chat over and over called a “pumpkin axe”. I asked a moderator what this was and they told me the enchants of a “pumpkin axe” and told me that people can repair my tools for a price.


After knowing this information I built up my money and bought one. After this I saved and bought a house in xamagodx's town. The house cost me 30k, as a builder. I was really impressed by the house and still own it to this day. Back at trevalynfars town I visited his mansion and noticed all the locks on chests he had. I enquired about this and he informed me I must get the rank “resident” for more locks. From that point forward I aimed for resident. It took about 2 hours of pumpkin farming with my axe to get resident. After resident I purchased a plot in a town. origamimaster10 and annyonion were my neighbours. About 1 day before I had worked for anny placing dirt in her town. From this point forward I made friends with anny and ori. I am grateful to both of you for helping me aswell J. Since then you have both been fantastic friends to me J. Because Ctoolme was the account of both myself and my brother I showed him what I was doing. (the name Ctoolme comes from combining both of our irl names, My name being Thomas and his being Cole. Together Tom and Cole make Ctoolme. :p) He was so interested he bought a minecraft account for himself. @Nutty_cole . At around this point I met @eben48 . I had approached him asking him how he had made it from builder to mayor in about 3 days. He gave me VERY valuable tips that I abide by to this day. He introduced me to a “melon sword” he was renting from @thomasku11 . He relayed his daily profit with it to me and I just had to get one. I set goals for myself. I would buy mayor and then a melon sword. It took me a few weeks to get mayor. Straight after mayor I hoarded nstars. I worked hours and hours to get it. Pumpkin farming at eben and thomasku’s farm. Because I was at gigafarm every living minute of my ECC live I soon met thomasku. He was super kind to me and added me to his party. In the party I met alot of special people in my ECC career. One of which was @rollsicy . Roll was the kindest player I have ever met. We got melon swords at about the same time and progressed together. After I acquired my melon sword I set sights on getting donations. My first donation was bought from thestaticage98. I purchased kit cc. At this point I was making about 30k a day. Multihome was my next donation and my last for a while.....


After multihome I started renting out my melon sword. The first person I rented it to was @bARely_TrYx_HI. I quickly made friends with him and he introduced me to his clan. This group was awesome. nicit6, solstice1, king_of_the_dot, original_jackson, iticip, weirdbuilder and upmoon. Nicit made a chat channel and was have chatted in it everyday since :p. However my melon sword renting days were shortlived. One day I rented it to goldwhite and he didn’t return it. This was the closest moment I ever had to quitting. I did quit infact until annyonion origamimaster10 and eekelmo talked me into coming back. At this point I was a president [$] with a lot of work ahead of me. Day after day went past. Slowly I rebuilt my balance until I had enough to purchase a melon sword again. I finally got another one meeting @Jikkzz in the process. Jikkzz was super awesome. We sged together, farmed together and mined together. He let me use his eff 7 while he used my melon sword. This was a great time for me. Me Jikkzz and rollsicy became really close. We started projects together and had many good times. Jikkzz got mod followed by rollsicy. I enjoyed every moment of my ECC life at that point. At around this point I had built up enough giftcards to buy extcommands+. To me this felt like a great achievement. My next feature was to be fly. However getting fly seemed to take longer than I expected. During the giftcard process I was scammed 220k for 4 giftcards. This once again set me back, however I persevered and bounced back. After I had gotten fly I started helping my brother in his efforts to get an eff 7 pickaxe. This was the start of him and I working together. We bought an eff 7 and began working together for everything. We bought a few features for each of us, shocked at how fast we were making money. The next purchase was another eff 7, this time for me. We then bought another melon sword and again.... rented them out. It was fine for a few days but in less than a week things turned sour. One day both players we had rented our swords to were banned. 2 swords gone in 1 day. This was a huge blow to both of us and we weren’t as inspired anymore. However we continued and started saving money again. We got to a balance of 1.5million and purchased the promotion from @Stolio . I was now a VIP with 100% Ecodollars. After this we loaned 250k to kconahan who was banned. Again our luck radiated around our every doing. We saved our money again and I got tycoon.


Jikkzz and Rollsicy quit. Both at about the same time. It sucked. My 2 best friends at the time quitting. I still try to keep in contact with both of them but I haven’t been able to convince them to return. Cole and I kept on making money, every day 100k+ our next mission was cole’s VIP. It took us about 3 weeks to get him from [$$] to [VIP] :p Now he was VIP with 100% ECD too. After cole achieved this I began to meet alot of people on ECC. One of which.... @konan200x . Konan is probably the most positive person I have met so far on ECC. She always has time for me that I can’t thank her enough for. About 1 week ago I got the EcoLeader rank. I finally feel like I have achieved something xD. Now I am striving for VIP+ with no tp and 100% ECD.


Because I have been writing this for about 2 hours now I will wrap it up and mention a few people that have made my ECC life special.


@Buddaor – Thanks for being my e rep guy for about 2 months!! You were really kind and I hope you return to ECC


@rollsicy – Thanks for making my ECC experience special :) You made me smile so many times :p I hope one day you can return to ECC


@Jikkzz – Jikkzz..... thanks for everything! :D I know you won’t come back to the server but if you ever do I will be a very happy ctool :p I will keep poking you on skype until you do lol

@Lee1104 lee... I look up to you. You are really good at minecraft. You are also very approachable :)

@Raccooy I have only recently met you. You have been a really cheerful person to be around and I thank you for that. :)


@eben48 – Eben, you have the funniest sense of humor and are a great person to be around. You make me laugh everyday. You have been extremely nice to me. If it weren’t for you I can say I wouldn’t have progressed as far as I have this year. Hopefully you will get mod soon :D


@annyonion – Even though we have grown distant... I really enjoyed the time we spent together doing random things. I hope we can get closer again some time :)


@bARely_TrYx_HI – You sir need to return to ECC nao. I am lucky I met you bro :)


@cracker228989 – well crackels... we have also grown distant but the skype calls we had were fun, always making my day. Thankyou for that, and I hope we can become close again soon :)


@rhyschalmers – Rhys! Your work with the farm is greatly appreciated. You are also a really nice guy :)


@Caitlin_Crime – skyping you and cracker was always fun. Even though you laugh the whole time.. lol. Grats on VIP :)


@trevalynfar – Even though I was probably a pain for you to teach, you are a great user :) I will always be grateful to you :)

I would also like to thank everyone in the ECC community. You guys are awesome. It is the most positive group of people I think I have ever met. If you are reading this thread and we haven’t met... please PM me ingame as I would love to meet you. I hope to get to know more of you guys as I progress on ECC :)


And Andrew... even though some people do not notice your efforts I can assure you I do. Playing on this server is awesome. You have created a fantastic community I am proud to be a part of. Your team of mods make this server special :)


I’m sure if there were a word limit to a post I would have surpassed it xD. I will save you and end the thread now :p. I have really enjoyed my year on this server and I look forward to many more to come :)
