1/8th Chance of No Kit Arena

Possibly have it,you can't summon your kits until the 60 second countdown, and once the countdown begins it will announce whether or not the game is A no kit game?

 

I voted yes, even though kits don't bother me. There are so many people crying about the unfair advantages that kits give I think it would be a good idea to implement this, it would also add some nice variety to the SG.

 

I don't think this inconsistent no-kit arena thing is going to do much to make SG something for newer players. It's just going to be the occasional skill-based game. Great for established SG players, not so great for new players.

I still stand by my arguments that a consistent no-kit arena would be beneficial to the server, and I still think a trial period should be held for both a separate no-kit arena, and the 1/8 SG. See what works better and then decide. First 1 week of no-kit arena 1, in that time KH can finish the 1/8 no-kit thing, and then 1 week of 1/8 no kit. This gives you a period of time to decide which of the two is more beneficial, and even to make the necesary adjustments or fixes to get a working product out when it's fully released.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it can be coded that 1/8 games in all arenas are non kit, however it can be 1/8 of games in one arena. Maybe not even counting that one out of eight games are non kit, but every time you join there is a 12.5% chance.

I'm probably just confusing everyone with my blabber but these games will be uncommon to rare, and new users aren't going to play so many games just to find one with no kits. That was probably the goal of this anyway, to entice people to join more kit games..

 

If the point of changing SG is to retain new users and gain new users, this 1/8ths system with point docking will not help. (Especially the point docking... If Builders already don't understand how to /sg vote, how would they know about docking and avoid screwing themselves over on accident?)

There should really be a trial period for both 1/8th chance + docking and just an arena that is no-kit. Kuke suggested a week for each, but I would suggest two weeks. Because it is summer, people are on vacations that often last about a week long; this is including potential new users. As well, it is always better to have a larger sample of information. New users joining, how long they stay on the server from first log in, how many games they play, how much they rage, how much money they make/how many games they win, if they donate or not, playing other aspects of the server (economy...), etc. Information/statistics are always averaged better when there is more to average.

However, if this is just to add variety to SG, then... okay. It'll definitely make a nice change and add "flavor" to SG for those who already understand ECC's very customized SG. However, it just seems like SG is one of the bigger causes for not gaining retaining new users.

 

If I am required to wait 10 minutes to play Sg on this server without being docked points because someone can't figure out how to vote, I (and most likely many others) will lose interest/not care about their points. This will make points almost worthless if no one cares about them.

All of you are yelling at me for my first post on this thread. I'd be ok with this after further explanation, but still, almost all my donations are kits. I'm just bummed and I feel like I got ripped off by buying kits. That's why I want an ecd refund.

 

There's a 12.5% chance of not being able to use kits. This means you can still use kits 87.5% of the time. you didn't get ripped off, lol.

 

In addition, the donator's best interest is almost always kept in mind. Remember how all donations will be sold at the exorbitant price of 20k - $1? That's crazy, and shows the appreciation that donors receive.

 

Ok, i agree with the 1 - 2 week "demo"? i guess u can call it, for the new sg.
Wht i Dnt agree with is the 5000 Point docking system.

- Very Hard for ECC people, espically people who time out/are new/ got to do something else!



Note: At least Reduce the points loss? about like 4000 points? or hve a mod or an AI like indicate if u timed out or something like that so it Doesnt Dock Points off of you?

I feel like I did, although I would be willing to give this a try after further explanation.

 

The only thing I can see wrong with this is either:

1) The single arena will *always* be full and people will still complain and want more.


2) The kit arenas will lose players and population, thus *possibly* resulting in fewer kit purchases.

Just my 2 cents, make it what you will.

The arenas are random. No arena will be no kits only and visa versa.
