Exp from mining will most likely NOT be restricted.
Emerald will likely be useless. (the npc thing at spawn is a good idea though :b)
And like I said, 1.3 is still a fair amount of time away and we have no idea what is going to be added and how it will affect the server.

 

1.3 is not that far away u should read twitter and reddit lol it actually should be in the next week

 

That is if there are no significant/noticable bugs.
even so.. by the time the server is at 1.3 it's already a week later

 

My concern is with spawn, the giant ravine for the mining world portal might allow duplication of EXP by people endlessly mining the ores and receiving exp, this might also not happen at spawn but in any region where you don't have permission.

 

I am sure that worldguard will have a fix for this.

 

Going to update the hunger games server to the pre release and test this today. Worldgaurd may get a fix for it, but they also may not, so we will atleast have advamce knowledge.

Emeralds are probably going to be used just for their emerald blocks. They seem like a waste if you trade them to villagers, unless I did something wrong and you actually get a lot of stuff.

 

It is completely random. You could get an iron sword for 3 emeralds or 10 cooked chicken for 4 emeralds. Its completely random and im sure people will have trouble mining for them since as of now they are only in extreme hills. But the trading thing is the only reason i think we should have villagers at spawn. And tripwire will be added, that will be a problem since im gunna bet some people will use tripwire for trolling. And the emerald blocks? They just look like pretty manufactured green iron blocks.

 

i think the trip wire will be good for single player, but not for ECC.

 

Name changes will be worse for ECC. How many banned people will just change their name and log back in. How many will grief on a much larger scale since they can change their name and log back in. IP bans could work but there are probably some way to get around those I'm sure.

I really wanted to change my name since someone took it right away. But if it resets my stuff it's not worth it.

Also I think the villagers thing is cool my only thing is the emeralds are just exclusive to villagers. I can see people selling them but the update notes say emeralds should be an easier find. Which in turn means prices on that will be low and pretty much not even effect the server like iron ingot. And if you can't sell to the server, people won't really buy them much. So all in all it seems like more of a novelty item instead of an actual beneficial item. That's my two cents.

Can't wait for 1.3 though. :)

 

the emralds you can trade to villagers but you can also trade them stuff to get emralds

 

also i heird that the emralds are not easy to find and are worth more then diamonds
