★ ECC - Where Are They Now? ★ ------------------------------------------------------ I've recently just rejoined again and have been coming across so many old players from 2012+ and it's amazing. I've been checking in with everyone and its so great to see people who played ECC when they were in high school or so much younger, and now they've had so much success and are doing so many new and different things in their life. So, I've decided to make this thread, for old players to talk about where they were in life when they started ECC, and what they're doing now! What you were doing then: When I first joined ECC, I was in the first year of HighSchool, failing my grades, staying up till all hours of the night playing Minecraft and being tired at school constantly. What you're doing now: I've now come out to my family and moved out of home and am living in my own apartment! I attend University full time studying A Bachelor of Film, Entertainment & Social Media Management! I work full time between 3 jobs, 1 being as an Admissions Officer at University, the other 2 working as a head Videographer for different film companies! I also am developing my own app, and am fortunate enough to fly across the world promoting it! (I also still somehow have time to play ECC in amongst all of this! Username: TheCravedOne Join Date: I dunno somewhere in 2011 What you were doing then: freshman in high school, wasn't doing to good in class and had a fair amount of time on my hands for video games. I played football, basketball, and lacrosse and was the captain of the lacrosse team. lived in Oregon with my family and had too much fun What you're doing now: currently I am in the Air Force working as a special ops aircraft electrician in New Mexico on c-130's I live with my fiancee and have a cat named Zorro. it's kinda boring out here but I love my work. you'll see me nowadays working out, playing video games, watching movies and traveling around the states for work and leisure.

I had a very troublesome childhood, dealt with mom's alcoholism/drug addictions, etc. I was always really good at school, but my social/emotional intelligence was very poor. ECC was definitely my escape from the life I was living in, I'd come home and play for hours a day after school. What you're doing now: I'm a college sophomore, although not currently attending. I am a barista/barista trainer at Starbucks, and have been for over a year now! Love what I'm doing and I live in a different city now, with my dad. Oh, also, I'm trans MtF, so there's that so I guess I've changed a ton! ECC is still my place to relax and chill, but now I'm a staff member as well :O It's so nice being here with so many old users/new users alike, so friendly. I love this community! <3
Username: Videowiz92 Join Date: late 2011 What you were doing then: Having graduated high school in 2010, I started my first job at Arby's and started taking classes at a local college. I found ECC in late 2011 around October and joined with some friends I played on Xbox Live (@CHISM_101 was one good friend back in the days of Halo 2 until that went offline.) What you're doing now: I've since dropped out of college and have stuck with my first job (going on to 9.5 years) as an assistant manager. Haven't really made any big moves with my life, just living life as it happens and spending money on hobbies (I've thrown about $8.5k at ECC over the years.) Gonna need to make some changes in the near future.

Username: FuryFudge Join Date: 21 September 2013 6 years in a couple days What you were doing then: Nothing really of note lol. I was in the early stages of high school and Minecraft was really the only thing I could waste time on. I played a LOT of SG and then lost all the money I earned from that to lotto or sportsbook, and continued that cycle for a couple years. Then being on and off in terms of activity for a while. I finally made a proper return to ECC right at the beginning of this year What you're doing now: A big part of my life happened last year. I got an offer to get a full expenses paid internship at a company developing mobile games in the UK (I was/am living in New Zealand) 3 months before I finished my last year of high school. They wanted me there right away but of course I had to finish my exams and stuff. After my exams I left for the UK to live in London. It was initially meant to be a 6 month internship but it was quite successful and I ended up staying there for a year. Some highlights of my time there where when the team I worked with went on a "work vacation" to Spain and stayed in an amazing villa for a week during the World Cup (as the mobile game was about football and we decided to relax after all the hard work we had done before the tournament). I also managed to go on holiday to the Netherlands to the place I was born and grew up in and got to reconnect with a lot of friends and family I hadn't seen for many years, that was definitely THE highlight of my stay in Europe. After a year I decided I wanted to go back to my family because leaving home straight out of high school at 17 years old had not been easy. I got back home to NZ at the beginning of this year and decided to take a gap year of sorts. That's when I got back into ECC. Nine months later I am a GameAdmin on the server and run the best place to sell ores to at /warp station2 Back to real life, I currently help a lot around our property (I live way out in the country) and with taking care of my Granddad who is suffering from dementia. I also work part time in the family business (a book shop) 2-4 days a week.
Username: Ajp79 Join Date: Late 2011 What you were doing then: 32 years old...Married 8 Years with 2 Kids 7 and 4 years old...Working... Playing Minecraft too much.. being old.. What you're doing now: 40 years old..Married 16 Years, 3 kids 15, 12, and 6... Working.. Playing Minecraft too much.. being even older. Watching the youth of ECC all grown up kills me but also makes me proud to have been here all these years. What a journey....
Username: pbrassat Join Date: December 2011 (Forums a month later) What you were doing then: Oh god, back then I was 12, so middle school. All I knew back then was ECC, and going to school, and playing basketball with my friends, can't remember anything else I did. What you're doing now: 20 now, Graduated from highschool, going to college for Pre-Med at the moment (well see how my classes go to determine if itll stay that way) Been on and off working at different places just to somehow pay for the stupid amount of debt i'm about to go into, up until a month ago I wasn't active anymore either, ECC has turned into a nice place to get away from the stress of studying and instead just have fun with some old friends. Definitely weird to think most of the people knew me when I was 12-14, seems like another lifetime ago lol.
Username: Drewbo_ Join Date: June 13, 2013 A little over 6 years ago What you were doing then: Let's think, back then I was probably around 10 or 11 years old which puts me in about 4th or 5th grade. Back then I didn't care at all about school and was constantly not doing my homework so I had more time to play ECC. I didn't have many friends and was always just chilling on ECC meeting friends on here, many of whom I still talk to today that I've known for many years. What you're doing now: Oh lord, currently I am a Junior in high school taking 5 Advanced Placement courses and 1 Dual Enrollment course at a local college. To be honest, when high school started I found a love for it and the competition in it so I slowly stopped playing ECC, currently I am gathering up my SAT/ACT scores in hopes of applying to the pre medical program at my local university in the fall, like pbrassat said above, it's weird to know that I've been talking with people on here who have known me since I was just above 10 years old.
Username: NinjarakuPwnz Join Date: May 2013 What you were doing then: just moved from Oklahoma, to Northern California, played WoW the years prior, just had 2 apprentice ninja's at the time =) i was an HVAC(heating/air) for commercial buildings/stores, then around Feb 2014, got the job i currently have now doing full store resets and merchandising, QC checking, raaandom things you'd never think of being a job in retail (driving 3 hours for a 30 minute job to setup a display...), that's me =) though lots of store changes for big chain retailers, may be putting this job back burner. and at the time, i got my wife to play also, we both have towns in Archive, at the time we lived in the outskirts of town where walking outside with a gun was normal. What you're doing now: Well... xD to say the least, and save hours of reading, I'll skip the between and jump to Now, now. Since my job has slowed down a bit, i've actually gotten to be home and enjoy my family, more than 1 day a week, compared to weeks out of state for work, i've driven over 700k miles in the 7 years, had months and months where I'd get home and the kids are asleep, now i do inventory control/ordering for warehouses with the same company, Quick leap back a few years, i got to take my wife on a work trip to Seattle WA, well... 9 months later, we had another ninja xD but I'm looking into a new full time job that does pay more, of all things, bat removal/repair & cleanup, like in Attics ! and live BATS! sounds really awesome but my loyalty is to the company that's kept my bills paid the 7 years, I'll probably keep my current job when i take on the new one. so where im at now, all my kids are old enough to play minecraft i've gotten to be there when all 3 of my kids come into the world, and teach them the WASD+mouse basics of course =) #gamerdadgoals but more importantly, i've learned that a 7 day mute(locked me in a closet...) really puts the amount of time we spend playing here vs talking in chat into perspective, though the mechanics and the community is what has always brought me back time and time again, over the years i've applied to be staff, but i've learned im a verbal toxic form of Salt that only takes a pinch dashed over chat to raise hell, but there are staff members who know when i seem at my worst I'm really holding back, and that I am a nice person with a porcupine personality. i can be reserved, but i don't see myself getting it so i decided i just won't apply going forward. but that's small beans compared to the on-going expansion, and some day completion of my town, Archetype. which in all reality, will be ever-on-going. but the life side, i have an awesome wife and 3 kids, cars in my backyard and animals all around, though we live in-town now, just have 2 dogs, 2 ducks, a guinea pig, and a turtle, and you really should have a something to defend yourself if you go out after dark to the store around here... AND we bought a house! not even going into those details... I'm living the American dream i guess? LOL. so much I'm leaving out even, i know... "Long Read Bruh" but this is really, the minimal of it. For me, minecraft is like the hobby you can never really be Done with, and all these years, i've really only ever played on EcoCityCraft to be honest, and enjoy every minute of it through the ups and downs, in game and life, the good outweighs the bad mainly because i can rely on my build being there when i login thanks to being a Non-reset main world =D And of course, the players who've stuck around, and like me are willing to help one another. Not everyone remembers everyone, but for those who do, it really is nice to have those moments. though im not as outgoing to make friends as i once was irl, i enjoy a familiar block face saying hi, all the returning people, and continuing cutting the path forward through our digital towns of tomorrow, or as our 6 year ago yesterday, was archive. Username: Jdawger Join Date: Dec 2013 What you were doing then: Was a Sophomore in High School, got my first girlfriend around that time, joined the Brony fandom four months prior, was big into the pvp/sg scene, and helping @oreo1227 with his town Sweden in Legacy (before Legacy was even the title of the world) What you're doing now: Senior in college, part of a world famous college Marching Band, still a Brony (somehow), different gf, worked on a build team for the largest MLP server of all time (and now building these builds in ECC), primarily spend my Minecraft time making impressive builds these days, @oreo1227 doesn’t play anymore but now I have different friends in ECC, and have the most sexy beard in the trumpet section.

Username: ClarinetPhoenix Join Date: June 23rd, 2014 What you were doing then: I was engaged at the time, I had just moved in with my fiance at his mothers house, I had a job and I had my cat. I was working majorly part time at a cajun/creole kitchen cafe. The owners were great and I became their #1(and only employee). It didn't pay all that well but they were nice people. I never did anything extraordinary. I just wanted the simple life at the time. You get married, buy a house, have kids, settle down. That was my plan at the time. I originally did not plan to join the Staff team on ECC when I first joined. I just wanted somewhere to play minecraft. My life was starting and I had goals and dreams that didn't pertain to hours upon hours dedicated to a server. I was getting ready to start a life with the man I loved. I joined ECC to have something to do with my downtime, to build Hogwarts and enjoy a long-term game. I didn't know anything else of life, I didn't think to know anything else. Then I became Moderator on ECC in September. What you're doing now: Well, now I'm Co-Owner of ECC. I joined the Staff team and things went from there. I met lots of different people. Some showed me what more I could have out of life. Others not so much. It was ECC that really changed me and made me realize that I wasn't satisfied with what I had at the time and that I could change my life if I wanted to. So I did. I currently still work in the food industry, now full-time for a local pizza joint where I make a living as well as have a team that really emphasizes on integrity and strong team bonds. It is hard work but its is a good place to work. Its a good supportive environment and even though I'm not making hundreds of thousands a year, its enough and its healthy. Back when I joined I only had 1 pet, Kazmir, many of you know Kazmir. :3 Now I have 5 pets, 4 snakes have been added to my family over the past 2 years. Rei, Mosaic, Aspen and Rowan. It can be alot of work taking care of them, especially on days it seems they all need attention, but I love them regardless. I have also changed as a person. I thought I was all grown up at 21, then things ended with my fiance and I really had to learn how to be independent. Had to learn many things that never occurred to me when I was much younger. In all I am glad for these lessons. Now I live life, travel, work to live and spend my money on things that bring me joy. I do exactly what I want when I want it, and no one can tell me otherwise. Oh, and I'm still here for ECC, since ECC too, brings me joy.

Wasn't really doing anything much honestly, the usual high school barrage of college prep and AP. What you're doing now: 22. Completing my last few college credits. At the same time, working full time in development at a local tech company.

What you were doing then: I was a Sophomore in Highschool, didn’t really know what I wanted to do, just sorta bummed around. Minecraft was like the only video game I played and in general just sort of the typical high school stuff What you're doing now: I graduated from my college this past Spring and now am working in a Managerial position in retail. Im looking to go and work towards my MBA next year and then take it from there!

Not sure what I wanted to be yet, I just did my best in school. Living in the Niagara Region What you're doing now: Well with shit that happened in my life within the past 3 years, I can say I've come out pretty strong; Family issues, living issues, grades dropping...won't get into too much about that. Graduated as the valedictorian of my class, got plenty of scholarships and now in first year university at the University of Ottawa studying chemical engineering. Though temporary and long distance, I am in the happiest relationship of my life and I am starting to look up and be excited for the future. Now 18. Username: a_man21 Join Date: January 6, 2015 What you were doing then: I was a senior in high school, at that point in the year I think I was just finishing up my winter break. I was ready to be finished with high school, and I was ready to go to college in the fall for civil engineering. What you're doing now: Right now I'm a 5th year senior in college (super senior, victory lap, whatever), getting ready to graduate in May with a degree in parks, recreation, and tourism. I ended up changing my major twice (from civil engineering to geology, then geology to parks and rec). I wasn't enjoying my classes and honestly hated school until I changed my major what I am in now, and I have never looked back. Right now I am working alongside 2 of my professors doing research as an undergrad on several recreation programs for children, and I am going to a national recreation conference this fall to present our findings from the study. I also became a volunteer emergency medical technician this year, so 4 times a month I run a 12 hour shift responding to 911 calls in my community. It is very exciting and I get to see a lot of interesting things, everything from a drug overdose to a 95 year old lady with dementia who tried to kiss me on the lips. I was interested in medicine when I was in high school and considered becoming either a doctor or PA, but ended up going a different route, so this was a good way for me to explore an interest of mine. Overall, I feel like I am a much happier person now than I was when I joined ECC. Before, I viewed school with a "lets get this over with" attitude, but now that I am in the right place I look forward to my classes and am excited to learn. Lots of people view Minecraft and other video games as a waste of time, but the experience I have had here with ECC is irreplaceable, I've met lots of amazing people and made some great friends that I hope to stay in touch with for as long as possible. So thanks everyone, you gave me a place where I could come unwind and relax over the past 4.5 years.
Wow, this is extremely interesting. Username: EMD3000 Join Date: 2013, six(ish) years ago, going on seven. What you were doing then: Was around 12 years old and in my first / second year of middle school, spending way too much time and $$$ on Minecraft, I would: scrounge up as much money as I could, go the the grocery store down the street and buy Visa Pre-Paid cards, spend money on features, rinse and repeat. Obsessed with cars and economics, contrary to how many hours I have spent and continue to spend on Minecraft I was never a big fan of the game itself. I just liked the whole “simulated” economy aspect of this server. What you're doing now: Recently got a job at BMW to kill some time and make a little money, and recently bought one of my “dream” cars as @zjkhan can attest to aha. Going to college, planning on studying Business / Economics & Pre-Law; we’ll see how that goes. Traveling, trying to see as much as I can before school starts to consume my life (again). I just got back from Europe, and I plan on going back in a few months.
