When I installed OptiFine, I did not put it in any mods folder. I installed OptiFine onto 1.8 and then installed liteloader and other mods onto that.

Ping still sucks but the server actually seems to be more responsive now. In the last couple days the slow loading and glitches seem to happen less.
Also, the shop has you enter in your username before you shop for stuff so you can garuntee that you will get the stuff by entering your username...
