Okay, checked it now. It is a client-side bug. I went to the coords and found it when using 1.8. Once mined they turn into regular stone.
...this...can't be! That is 1.8 andesite! The textures match perfectly; so does the block info on the right...but the server is not 1.8 yet! @_@

As far as I know vanilla MC offered/offers more than just one possibility to dupe with hoppers...tried with bukkit, so far all I know still work.
