I think pvp should be disabled in the mining world simply because its a mining world not pvp world and i find it irritating when i a i am trying...

you could disable creeper damage int he main world you can do that with essentials
we had mobs in the main world before and it really wasn't a problem and as for towns that is why most towns have walls,
