I dont have a job yet as I graduated recently, but the job I aim to get involves working in a power station monitoring performance of generators/motors/TX lines and being involved in renewable energy projects. Power lines rarely break, but there are always backups to OH lines (cables underground - worse performance but still backup) . Faults occur more often and those are handled properly (Whole theory called Fault Analysis about what happens during unexpected shorts / damages)
