Posting this here cause nobody would go on general discussion and all my friends are here ;-; I have been wanting to make this post for while since its been bothering me. Well, here you go. Top Voters. Its a thing many try to achieve, so they can perhaps gain a rank on their favorite server to gain cool perks and items. Though many try, only a few special are selected, only 15. Those who do make it early on must keep their position must keep it up so they can get the credit they need for their next rank. They have to compete with others as to how early one votes, in order to get higher on the list, along with making sure to vote everyday at the same time. But, everyone on the list is at a disadvantage. I don't know if anybody has noticed this, or this is an EXTREME coincidence, but Top Voters organizes the list in alphabetical order, using numbers first. Now, if one were to put rewards for top voters into consideration, currently it goes $50 for top 5, $30 for the next 5, and $15 for the last 5. Automatically, this puts people who's names begin with later letters in the alphabet at a disadvantage, such as "theTechkid19(me ), shadowpyrolily(@@pyrolily ), or "TheWhiteAssKid". Not that I'm complaining about being lower than others, currently im at a position in which I would get $30, enough to get me my next rank. But for others in the last 5, it may not be enough, or just $5 short. I find this to be unfair, as this could happen to me at any point as well. Also, there are those who somehow seem to have 1 or 2 votes more than others. For example, as today is the 7th, and one can vote 4 times a day, the max votes one should be able to get is 28. But, as the picture i am including shows, some people seem to have 29. I understand that they probably voted just as the list changed, and the votes glitched. But I feel that since they have more than most, they have an extra advantage of getting a high position on the list and bumping off those who have a lower position (such as "Zaroutouz[sorry I misspelled that bud, you got bumped off and I don't know how to spell it lol]) off the list itself. I understand that staff probably can't do anything about this, but I just wanted to put this out there. Attached is the picture i was referring to above: theTechkid19
I remember once where I have the same amount of votes but my name started with z and it didn't matter, I was in top 5. It's how consistent you vote, I'd set an alarm everyday to wake me up and vote at that timing. Sometimes votes would be down giving others about to vote more than you. Sadly I have some things going in this month so I didn't go after top voter. Then again these top voter awards, we don't pay for it. Getting even $5 should be good enough seeing how it's an award.
Yeah I was tied with someone, but I wasnt bumped down even though my IGN started with Z and his wasn't.
That's odd. Perhaps the system has slightly changed? Because it seems the alphabetical order has come into play especially these last three months. I also agree with the reward topic. Every $ is a reward, and I didn't mean to complain or be greedy. I just wanted to state something I saw.
I also forgot to add that i vote everyday at 11 AM EST, but I still see people voting after me and getting higher positions on the list cause of their names. #justsayin Plus, props to pyro (@pyrolily ) for only voting twice that day to make it fair for others. Forgot to mention that in OP.
Is there anywhere to see any more of the top voters list? If you are in the Top 15 it shows but is there any way to see more of the list?
Thanks for your informatiomal post. As a new player I vote daily to show support for this (our) great server and those who keep it up and running smooth.. So when there are some glitches- at least the owners and mods are eager and willing to fix or address the concerns. So thanks very much for sharing your concerns. The benefits from voting are a reward (bonus) which we all can benefit from.
