Hey guys! I just wanted to come on here today to talk about a few things regarding AEM and just general life. Of course all feedback is appreciated and I just want to say that I really enjoy doing these things :).
Anyways, I just wanted to start off by saying that in general, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. You can take this is a few ways. First, you can just say to yourself "I am rich and get more money so I am richer" and vice versa for poor. You can also take this as a symbol of general life. If you have ever played a game where you receive score streaks, you know that you are getting richer. In terms of FPS, you have gotten kills, which makes you rich, then your score streak gets you more kills, which makes you richer. You can also relate this to the poor by saying you have gotten killed a bunch, so you are poor, and then from the score streaks, you die even more, and get poorer. You can also take this as an opportunity. We do not live in a world where you can not achieve anything. We do not live in a time where if you are born a peasant, you yourself are a peasant and can not move up in the hierarchy ranking. Just to compare, how many great sports players or singers or famous actors have come from family's the live in poverty (Annual income is less than that of which they need to afford basic necessitys)? A WHOLE lot more than those born into middle class - upper class families. And what does this show? ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!
Now, you guys are thinking " Evan WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT"!? And that is the beauty of writing :). I can take things and connect them to other things, otherwise known as a synthesizer. Some may say that it is easy, and some may say that it is not. That is why I write these.
Now to connect this to AEM servers. As you may know, there are staff- players on AEM. There are also donating players. And there are also non-donating players. And what is that key word? PLAYERS! This word would not be taken as anything else besides a person who is playing a game... but not on AEM servers. Don't get me wrong, the staff on AEM servers are great. I love each and every one of them and have NEVER thought a single bad thought about any one of them. But that is why this doesn't work. You see staff members coming online and being instantly shot with messages of "Hey <3 Whats up OMG" or something like that, while others get online and... nothing.
Anyways, if we can connect that staff to the rich, the donators to the middle class and the non-donators to the poor, this is how the server will run. Staff receives instant gratification from anyone else on the server. Is this bad? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Like I have said, the AEM Staff members are amazing! But, what does that mean for the other players? Well, the donators will either become popular on the server or not, and the non donators will only become less as higher ranks become more. Simple as that. And the worst part is... THIS OCCURS TO ALL LIFE!
This post was nothing more than me saying that all players are equal. Once again, staff deserve the most love because they do the most for the server. But what now happens to the other ranks?
I hope that you all enjoyed this post and of course leave your comments below on what you though :)

I don't think this is true honestly. I'll use delvin as an example. Before he became a mod, he was a member. Heck, he was richer than every single donor and mod/admin on the server. He made a name for himself. Not to mention, you see people sticking up for others. Lemme link the thread when i find it

EDIT: Here is a fine example of donors sticking up for members. Or in this case, more well known members :p https://aemservers.net/threads/want-free-vip.2481/

Also, you have to realize that you sometimes make your own reputation. You don't instantly get "Hey <3", donor or not. You make friends and GET well known into the community, not buy into it. Even mods make their reputation, they can't just be a mod overnight.

I don't think that you are understanding the big picture... when I explained that you can look at it with a concrete standpoint where "rich" and "poor" are monetary values, I meant for that to be the almost antitheses. It didn't matter how much Delvin owned before he became staff, he would have never been as known as a current staff member. And yes, you do make your own reputation, but as I said, you can never achieve that instant gratification or "instant popularity" as a non-donator.

    Just no :p

Ah and lojo you just gained ALL of my respect. What I do with these forum posts is for 1. People to make clicks (like you just did) and 2. Show that some people just Have IT. I am VERY VERY glad that you saw this and said what you said!

Well my point of view, and even if you're rich that doesn't actually make you famous, if you get cocky about it, you'll gain more haters than people who actually like you for who you are. I've seen a lot of players who aren't donors and they're really popular among other players in the server. It's the way you see things and your perspectives towards them.
And @Tree_Killer_ , I've been seeing why some players hate him, it's because he was trying to tell players rules and they actually flame him because he isn't staff and stuff so he should just mind his own business and stuff. And he gets angry and starts $%#$%^%$&*^&* , but other than that I think he actually ain't that bad of a player. Not everyone is perfect c: They have their flaws. And no matter how good you are, there are always haters as well.

Yes i agree, Anything is possible depending on the person himself. If you were born poor, you work hard and you get better, pick yourself up. Your friends can help you 60%, family 90% but it's only you who can help yourself 100%. Humans Fall, we learn from it and get improve. We don't sit around whining about how life sucks, how we can't get what we want. If you're rich, you stay humble. Cockiness and being proud would cause them their downfall. The richest can become the poorest vice-versa. Life will never be smooth sailing, the world doesn't revolve around a single person nor will it stop for someone.
In game, if you keep dying, you learn from it, gain skills and experience and you wouldn't remain in that pit hole. They move forward.

Donors or not, everyone starts from the bottom and build up a reputation for themselves. I've seen non-donors being more liked than some donors and staff. Some staffs hated more than donors/non. It depends on the player and how the see one another.
Yes I do agree you'll most likely see players go "Omg hello<3" to staff but if they weren't staff, that would most likely not be seen unless you're well liked. I remember how I was trusted, i worked my way out, communicate with everyone be it donor or not. I then gained reputation and worked my way up, donated and started helping out more and eventually got recognized and non donors/donors started rooting for me to apply for staff. That was my starting point. Even after being demoted once, I never gave up, I had supports of players and made it this far.

You work to achieve. You don't look forward to a reward, be humble.
I think everyone deserve equal love but then again it is up to the person and who they like best. There are non-staff who worked harder within their capabilities who also deserve the amount of "love" said.

Everything depends on the person who sees things. Everyone is indeed equal, but to who? It's the mindset and determination and the way you project yourself.
You can't expect everyone to like you. The world doesn't work that way. You may not be my cup of tea or I may not be yours but that is how the world works. We can't please everyone. If you cloud your mind thinking whatever you say is right or how they do not understand, think about it. What if you're the one who doesn't understand. Open up your horizon and look not from 2 points of view but 3. Don't stay at one corner wishing wanting, take a step forward, even if it's a baby-step, go up. Move on. We get discouraged, disagreements, dragged down but don't stop. Equality and humanity, how sure can we be that everyone views the same? Do not get me wrong, I do agree with some points.

Let me just put my view on this subject simply instead of others making books *cough* zRinne *cough* xD

Staff are there for questions so people messaging staff is common. As for everyone else, it does not matter if you are a donor or not. I know a lot of people I have been friends with before I became a donor on any server. I can tell you something though. Just because I am a donor, I did not become more recognized by people. I have been friends and try to be friends with everyone I have met on AEM and will meet on AEM. Nobody is more "popular" than anyone else. I would love to be the person that everyone looks to for help or items. For example, I would love to make a huge gold farm to give everyone free/cheap gold. But one thing you must understand about this. The obsidian I mined for it, I MINED IT. The tons and tons and tons of lava I will need, I WILL GRAB IT. Everything I need, I will EARN. It won't all be handed to me. I am not going to be given creative for it. This is the same with everyone else. People donate not for popularity generally but they do it for the perks like fly and /auc. Just because you are a donator or a staff member, this does not mean that you are more popular and more noticed than everyone else. It simply means that you type in colorful letters and have more perks than members. And you want to connect it to real life? Okay, lets connect it to real life. Who here likes to go up to the nerdiest kid in your school and say hi? <----- rhetorical question. I do not know many people that would just go up to someone you generally don't talk to and say something. EVERYONE STICKS TO THEIR FRIEND GROUPS. THAT'S THE WAY THAT LIFE WORKS. If you are friends with a staff member or a donator, great for you! If you are the person that sits on their skyblock island and doesn't socialize or anything, people generally won't notice you. lol. Look at this. I said I wouldn't be writing a book and yet here it is. So, here I will wrap this post up. Just because you are staff or a donor, you are not more popular. You are just in your friend group. The only place I can think of that you would be noticed more is in the /list command in which your name will be colorful.

Well I guess in short, If you start poor or rich, you work hard to reach your goal. Everyone starts off as a nobody and through foundation, climb their way out despite the hardships and times they fall. Gist is to never give up, rank does not define who you are. It's what makes the person.
We can't please everyone and there's nothing we can do about it. Life is cruel and yet it isn't.
Things appear difficult because our mind complicates it.

    ._.

Once again, mods gain rep, not insta rep. There's a MAJOR difference. Your missing my point.

Its not like the staff aren't respected before they get the staff job! They are chosen partly because they are a big part of the community and are largely respected.
