So I remember when /baltop took 2-5 seconds to load. In the past couple of months, I cant remember it ever loading at all. I understand how the system works, and that it loads every player's balance that ever played on the server, and THEN puts it in order. Now that, can take a while. I had an idea that maybe the system could change. Such as maybe only refreshing every day, so when you type /baltop, its already loaded. or maybe /baltop could only shop the top 100 richest players on the server. Also, all the players with $0, which is something like 20,000, could be removed from the system. My last idea was that /baltop only loads people that have over a certain amount of money, like $1k or $10k or something. The skygrid community is getting frustrated!
I'll have to ask the big guns to look into this for you guys, I could never see the /baltop it just never loads for me but if it did I would only want to see Top 10 balances.
It takes a long time to load because of all the unique entries. There are probably over 100,000 it has to run through every time you get on. For it to load faster we would have to purge old data, and thats something for the big guns as snow said.
