Aem is a great server, but we all know that the server is lacking players I just have a few suggestions to get more players and keep them. First of all, The ban list is over 600 pages long with 10 players on each I believe. That's a ton of banned players, now I understand that people advertising, swearing a lot, and just plain rude should be punished. I know I'm not Staff or anything like that but hear me out. If someone is advertising or swearing that should be a mute, not a ban. that's one of the reasons that we are low on players, There's not a single person on the mute list, and many of the bans are chat related. then for bans in general I believe many players would come back on the server if temp bans were given out more. But my point is that there are 3 times more bans then there are people playing on average. I'm not demanding this is done, nor saying that the staff isn't doing it right. I'm just giving a suggestion. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Well, I don't think that muted players are put on the mute list, for one. However, I do like your idea of the swearers or advertisers being muted. Also, I have noticed that our numbers are infact increasing. In the past, I've only seen about 140 players on on average. Now, I usually see upwards of 200.
there used to be near 400-600 on average during day then i left and i came back and we are down to 80-200 i see now not as many as im used to and its sad
I have seen a player increase within the last few weeks, hopefully from all this voting we all are doing, we shall attract new people to the server.
Well, once skygrid resets, I'll start a YouTube series for it, and possibly stream on twitch. Maybe that will get some more players... Even if it's just like, 10 XD
You also need to take in account how many chances each of those players have gotten. When we ban for advertising its usually spam bots i.e people who wont be staying on the server anyways. They are advertisers that just show up to try and get players for their server. Muted players do not show up on a "mute list" simply because no players are perma muted. The lack of players is not due to bans, kicks, or mutes. There are other reasons for this and non are at fault of AEM or any of the staff. I am not trying to say that you are wrong in saying what you have just saying the reasons are not correct. One of the biggest reasons players have decreased is the lack of voting. A year ago AEM flourished with over 1500 players on average, over that year there was a lack of voting and it had caused the population to dwindle. Some people dont understand just how much voting can affect. What we need to do is spread the work and get people to push their daily votes out. If that can be done, in a matter of months we could double the players on AEM just by getting each player to put in their daily votes. On top of all of that the Owner is busting his ass trying to get each and every server not only updated but reset as well. A huge thing that brings players is a fresh world. Take Survival for example, before the reset it had around 15 people average a day. After the reset we average I would say around 30-40 and peak at 80-100, and that is on survival ALONE. So he is trying to get that done, he is doing what he can when he can. Like the rest of us he has a life, a job, school, girlfriend. The most dedicated players will be around when the server is back to its widely populated self.
I am guessing you're not using Safari to view the ban list - if you see most of their ban reason, you'll understand why they are banned. If you use a normal browser to view a players ban, it would look like this : Spoiler: Ban List via Other Browser You will be able to see the arrow beside Ban List and Kick List but nothing will happen when you click it, that is for normal Browser. However, if you use Safari to view the Ban List, you will be able to click into them. Spoiler: Ban List via Safari We usually warn the player first before taking any harsher punishment. Some players have broken the same rule they did before which results in a straight ban. As for advertisers, they mostly don't care if they got ban, they are spamming another Minecraft IP for a reason which results in a straight global ban. For those who don't spam or don't seem to have the intention of promoting another server, we usually warn them first. Don't forget that they can always appeal to come back on AEM. Swearing is mostly a mute but there are times where it goes out of hand and evolve to something else, we do things we see fit. Would you rather mute him for awhile, and have him start all over again? It'll cause more drama, more chaos thus banning said player would be the best action. I say staff does things that will cause less problems in the future. I don't want to play on a server where players think it's okay to break the rules because they "won't get banned (easily)" just muted or warned, it'll cause potential troublemakers to rise, destroying peace we have now.
You've been banned a lot zRinne lololol Also, I agree, we really need to vote more. When I first started in AEM, basically a year ago, I remember seeing around 500 people on at a time. And do you know how I saw AEM? I heard of an interesting game mode called Skygrid. So, I went over to google, typed in "Best Skygrid Servers" and scrolled the list. The server that caught my eye was none other than AEM. Now, I enjoy a lot more than just skygrid. Now, do you know why I saw AEM on that list? Well, it's because so many people were voting for it at the time. Doing so brought the server up to the top, where it belongs. Now, it's simply not the same.
