Yeah, have you been outside of the spawn borders? It's a sudden drop down 10 blocks into a minefield full of random 1x1 holes that go down to bedrock. I motion that /warp pit be renamed /warp Detroit.

I go there once a day and cover the holes with gravel. However Sway did say the next time he would make a much bigger area of protection.
So you fill the holes with gravel? Gravel is a gravity block and doesn't stay up without something underneath it...

Making a bigger area of protection wouldn't do anything except delay the sudden drop into hell those few extra blocks. I think before the protection starts there should be a nice, even staircase going 10 blocks down, to make it easier to traverse.
Thats actually not a bad idea. I'll ask him but i doubt he'd want to do it. If he doesnt, then I'll make a protected bridge for people to climb down when it resets.
What makes you think the bridge won't be broken down? It's the pit so people will harvest everything for resources :b although you're a mod so maybe you can build it out of bedrock
Actually I think it would look a lot less detroit-ish if there was a specific area where dirt is to be mined. Sand and stone aren't the problem- it's stripping the world of the dirt that makes it a hazard. Maybe make a 16x16 chunk completely out of dirt and set that as the designated dirt digging location?
