Okay so i am writing a formal paper on the impacts of minecraft. Its for a school thing but I was wondering if anyone here can maybe tell me sort of the background of the server, its growth how this has been dealt with and I understand if you don't want to disclose information but if you can tell me how long you think people play on your server for and well you get the picture. Just how much this server is impacting people.

With this being my favorite server I would really prefer to mention you opinions and the staff's as well if you would be willing :p

i have played over a year on AEM, and in this time i have met some interresting people and made friends. So in my opinion this is a good place to meet new people, also you can find some debates of high level among the older players showing young and old play the same game. On the server you will find that alot of people are willing to help out if you get a problem.
    so in short points:
Socializing (You meet new people and talk with them)
Knowledge (If you want to know something alot of people can answer, some people are higly educated)
Crucial thinking (Finding a way to mine diamonds without dropping them in lava)
Reflexes (When a creeper appears behind you)

And the social effect can deal with irl issues.
I suffered from depression for a while, and the thing that got me out of it was making friends virtually and talking with them.
Ever heard of Reddit? Go search there for pretty awesome stories on recovery helped by Minecraft.
They have some real epic stuff there about people with problems that have overcome them with minecraft.
Another is autistic children under the age of 10 are being taught social skills with the works of Minecraft.
The list goes on and on, but there's a few of them to add on to Volkrot's ideas :)

Multi-player servers also teach people how to debate (use the words "critical thinking") for better, or for worse.
