You should always read the rules to any game you join. Otherwise how can you know what's allowed and what's not? Obviously every server is different. You can't just assume you know, because most of the time you are going to be wrong. I highly doubt you didn't notice the FLOATING HOLOGRAMS right near where you join that tell you "Remember that griefing is not allowed!" How can you possibly miss a floating colorful text right near you? I really don't believe you didn't know.
