I don't see why whispering an IP address is such a big deal... Its a vanilla server with like 2 other people online. b.) it was just an IP address... What's the big deal?
Advertising is when you send a server ip to other players, whether it is via global chat, private messages, or even writing it on a sign. We don't tolerate any advertising on AEM. When a user advertises, it pulls players away from AEM, which is bad for the server. It honestly seems like most players don't understand the severity of advertising other servers, and don't respect the rule. Do you understand how bad of an offense this is? Please respond within 48 hours.
I understand that it can drive players away, but 2-3 users doesn't cause much damage. We sat on the other server and legit stated that we missed building on our towny on AEM. I understand that its a rule, but it was one I wasn't aware of. My memory got a little foggy, I suppose. Although I daresay I don't entirely understand how bad of an offense it is, for 3 users to simply log off to go check out another server.
I do understand a bit more (now that I've given it more thought). I suppose it could be thought that the 3 users would find a way to tell other AEM users about this other server, sending away more and more AEM users. So, yes, I do understand how It is an offense. Maybe not a very bad offense, but an offense.
Right before I had been banned I had applied to be a Helper onto the server. I was simply unaware that whispering the IP to the user would be offensive. You have my apologies.
Willow, it should be common sense not to go on a server and send other players to another server. If we don't have players, we don't have a server to play on. It's probably one of the biggest offenses you can make on AEM which is why it's an instant global ban. I need you to acknowledge you understand this and promise us you will never do anything like this again. If you are banned again for any reason, we will not be able to accept the appeal. Please respond within 24 hours.
I promise to not do it again. I've already been unbanned. I was unbanned from everything except for Survival, and a few hours ago I was unbanned from Survival.
