Overview(top)
Rules
Treat others with respect.
- There’s no need to say or do things to make others feel bad or upset. Trolling, generally defined as provoking a person/situation to get a response, is also not allowed. This rule also encompasses intentionally trying to kill users in non-PvP zones (basically everywhere but in a PvP arena or in VMR) which is not allowed.
- While this is a gaming environment, EcoCityCraft is also a very large community. As such, we expect that all players use their common sense. Be a good sport and a friendly community member. Common sense extends to not bending the rules. Bending the rules constitutes as very severe trolling, and is not tolerated in any form. Encouraging others to break the rules is not using your common sense. Interrupting or stealing items from server events or Administration is not using your common sense.
Offensive content is not allowed.
- While some minor amount of swearing is allowed, severe or frequent vulgarity, especially when directed at others, is not. Offensive item/mob names, skins, minecraft structures and usernames are not allowed, and you are required to change or remove any if asked by a staff member.
- Chat should be family friendly. This means certain subjects are not allowed in chat. These include, but are not limited to, discussions about sex, politics, religion or drugs. If a staff member asks you to move a conversation elsewhere or drop one, you should do so.
Channel Specific Rules
- Certain chats have specific rules you must follow while using them. You are required to be speaking English at all times in all of the channels specifically listed below:
- This is our general chat for EcoCityCraft ingame. Everyone on the Network can see this chat.
- This is a chat for donors only. Civil discussion of politics, irl betting/gambling and religion is allowed here at the discretion of staff.
- You may advertise for the purposes of conducting in-game business within our trade channel, however you may not use more than one message every 5 minutes. It is also not allowed to use alt-accounts to post advertisements for yourself or other users.
- All Auctions must be through the automated auction system - You can see related commands via /auc. Auction chat is specifically for discussing Auctions. Manual Auctions are not allowed.
- This channel is only for hosting trivia competitions. Only one person may host a trivia competition at a time. Trivia chat is not to be used to encourage spam.
Advertising is not allowed.
- Advertising other Minecraft servers is strictly banned. You also may not advertise websites, YouTube channels, Twitch streams, or anything else if it is not related to EcoCityCraft.
- You may not attempt to do a moderator’s job in threatening to punish players for breaking the rules. You are not allowed to argue against any decision made by a staff member regarding enforcement of the rules in any public channel. If you do disagree, please contact that staff member privately to resolve the issue, and if you cannot, contact administration via our staff feedback form.
- Spamming is filling chat with multiple unneeded characters or messages. Do not do it.
- This rule also applies to spamming commands that don't necessarily show up in chat (whether it be manually or via powertool) or shouting, other chat functions or purchasing raffle tickets to the extent of making chat hard to read.
- Cheating in any form is not allowed. Anything that is considered to give you an unfair advantage over other players is considered cheating. This can include but is not limited to client mods to generate items/money easier or faster than otherwise possible, abusing server bugs or using alts/friends to gain more than you would normally gain on a single account. Generating money/items or other assets while AFK is also not allowed.
- Transactions to buy or sell EcoDollars or other in-game items for real money or other external products are not allowed. This includes minecraft accounts! The only exception to this is where players trade or pay another player in exchange for a purchase in their name from our official EcoCityCraft Shop.
- Griefing is considered destroying or changing another player’s property or buildings without their consent in any protected area. Don’t do it.
- Scamming is taking money, items, work, or anything else of value from another player dishonestly. This includes teleporting people into PvP areas without their consent. Unlocked chests and items on the ground on EcoCityCraft are considered fair game.
- Many of our Feature packages have their own rules and guidelines for use as well. You should review that features specific page under the EcoCityCraft Support Shop to check for any specific rules.

If you just joined the server or want to get a general idea of expectations, this is more than enough. However, if you're into the details or are a veteran player on the main economy servers, we'd recommend you take an in-depth look at Main/Main North server rules and legal practices regarding evictions, LWCs, town ownership, alternate account usage, item ownership and more on our Main Network Rules.
Main Network Rules(top)
These rules apply to our Main Servers and Main Servers only. Please refer to the rules above if you would like to see our network-wide rules.
Town Owner Rules, Evictions & Seizures
Town owners have the right to form any laws, living or building rules within towns, so long as they do not interfere with our universal server rules.
- Rules must be posted clearly in the town with locked signs, or agreed to via contract in order to be enforced by staff.
- In the event the town rules are posted via signs, the mayor must provide screenshots of the member agreeing to the town rules when filing a complaint.
- Town owners are expected to have respect towards their town’s residents.
- Scamming and taking advantage of your town’s residents is strictly prohibited.
- If you are the victim of a Mayor/President town scam, you may submit proper evidence of such to our Complaints forum.
- The user being removed was given a 3 days advance notice via in-game mail or forum PM/post.
- The user being removed was punished by staff for griefing the town.
- The user being removed has been offline ingame for 7+ days.
LWC Protection Removal Guidelines
You must follow all of the following rules to ensure your protections will be removed as requested:
- You need to be a listed owner on the town to file an LWC or Chest Shop Removal Request
- The protection owner must NOT be the current official owner of the town.
- These locks must be in a protected town. Locks in the wild will not be removed.
- These protections must be unobstructed and the owner must be able to access them. This includes having the player added to your town if you have the chest-access or entry town flag set to deny.
(If using anything but the first you must provide evidence of this.)
- The protection owner is offline over 7 days.
- The protection owner has been given proper notice and request to remove their locks.
- The protection owner has been banned from the server for Moderate+ grief of your town.
You can file requests to remove LWC's here: LWC Removal Request Form
Item Ownership
You may designate an item as yours via the /own command.
- Items that have a designated ownership belong to that player no matter how they have been obtained after the ownership has been set. In practice, this means that staff will return any owned item to its designated owner regardless of who is currently in possession if requested.
- We still allow the trading/sale of items where the seller isn't the designated owner. The seller, however, needs to inform the buyer of this and the fact that the designated owner may still reclaim the item from them at any time.
- Owning your item allows it to be tracked by Staff or via users with the ToolHunter feature. It does not mean that tools can be replaced when they are lost due to normal player error or game mechanics.
- Staff will generally not interfere in the transfer of ownership on tools. If you need ownership transferred then the tool owner must do it.
- While we allow the use of multiple accounts, we strictly ban any transactions that may be used to benefit your "main" account. This means that other accounts may not give money or items to your main under any circumstances. Your other accounts are also not allowed to rank up past Resident.
Lag-Inducing Structures
- Users are not allowed to build structures that can cause lots of lag. These include, but are not limited to, chunks with more than 20 decorative heads or 5 campfires.
Towns and Town Ownership Rules(top)
Who owns a town?(top)
We divide ownership into two different categories. Each designation comes with their own set of legal rights/responsibilities. They are as follows:
Official Owner
- This is the player who's name is on the town application. This is the only player staff will consider as the owner of the town.
- Added to the town but not official owner. Powers are defined by the owner of a town.
Town Ownership Rules(top)
What are town transfers or claims?(top)
There are currently two ways of changing the official owner of a town. A Town Transfer may be used, or a Tycoon+ may use an available Town Claim under any of the following circumstances:
Town Claim Only:
- The owners of the town are offline for a minimum of 6 months.
- The owners of the town are permanently banned from the server, and a period of 7 days has passed since the ban was issued.
- The owners of the town have signed and consented to the sale/transfer of a town officially.
- When a user transfers or claims a town, the former Official Owner loses all rights to the town and its ownership. The applicant becomes the Official Owner, and may apply for town features and have all the other benefits associated with being the Official Owner. This will not be reversed under any circumstances.
- As stated above, if you recieve another user’s town without a Town Claim or Town Transfer, be wary that the Official Owner may contact a GameAdmin+ after 5 days of you recieving the town to have the town returned to them.
- You can read more on our respective pages for the Town Claim Application and the Town Transfer Application.
Spawn Towns: Rules and Regulations(top)
- Spawn towns are defined as a front-row and second-row, 227x227 towns that directly face/border spawn (defined by the region named "spawn").

Spawntown Rules:(top)
- There must be a good faith effort to actually build or do something with the town - Your town must basically not be a totally flat wasteland or totally unbuilt whatsoever.
- Spawn town owners have around two months or so to show a good faith attempt to utilize the town in a productive and aesthetic manner.
- Spawntown owners that are found to be inactive and or not developing/using their town risk their town being seized by Administration to be auctioned.
Spawntown Reviews(top)
- Reviews will likely happen around the end of each month.
- Reviews will be handled by Administration and each town will be examined on a case-by-case basis.
- If no significant progress has been made
- The town owner(s) will be issued a notice via forum PM, they will then have another month to make appropriate progress on their spawntown.
- The town is left alone and will be reviewed again in a month.
- If no significant progress has been made:
- Administration will seize the town and auction it off.
- The town is left alone, and will be reviewed again in a month.
Ownership Change:(top)
- Should a spawntown change official ownership the new owner will be given 2 months to make appropriate use of the town. This will begin from the next review period.
- The town must be transferred to you via official means; such as a Town Claim, Town Transfer, or Administration auction.
- If the town changes ownership in-between reviews, the town will not be reviewed until ample time as passed.
- Example: If the town is sold and officially transferred on the 16th of Feb, it will not be reviewed for progress until the end of March instead of being immediately up for review at the end of Feb.
PermaBanned Owners:(top)
- If the official owner is PermaBanned and the town lacks progression and goes un-used due to this, Administration may seize the town to auction it off. This will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
General Guidelines/Information:(top)
- Continuous progress and activity on your spawn town will ensure you keep your town.
- A spawn town that is nearly complete or fully complete then it is no longer subject to the restrictions and will not be examined on a monthly basis. However you still must maintain activity to keep your Spawntown.
- Spawntowns CAN NOT be claimed with a Town Claim Application via inactivity standards. If/when a town reaches this inactivity status then Administration will seize and auction the town to determine the next owner.
