In Game Name: Wazupbutrcup What part of EcoCityCraft is this suggestion for: Other Short title for your suggestion: User & Region Filters to ShopDB What are you suggesting: I am suggesting an enhancement to the ShopDB system that would allow players to filter search results by specific users and/or specific regions. This could be implemented as dropdowns or input fields that refine the current search queries, enabling more targeted searches within the database. For example: Filter all shops owned by a specific player (e.g., “Only show results by Wazupbutrcup”). Filter all shops within a specific region or town (e.g., “Only show shops in region: MarketCity”). Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?: This feature would significantly improve the user experience by making the ShopDB more functional and precise. It would: Help buyers find trusted or preferred sellers more easily. Allow town owners to advertise their shop regions by name. Assist users in comparing prices within a single area or from one merchant. Reduce clutter when searching for common items with many listings. Adding filtering options would also support player-run economies and help promote competition and visibility across ECC. Other information: The filters could be placed in the UI alongside the item search bar, and could even be optional URL parameters for power users. This would be a huge quality-of-life improvement and could be extended in the future with things like category grouping or display radius filters. Plugin or custom addition: Custom addition to the existing ShopDB interface or backend query system. One suggestion per form: I Understand.
There are already tabs at the top to search for regions and players. We have more pressing issues with ShopDB in my opinion, such as inactive players/shops still showing.
I had no idea it was dead? I use it all the time. While not perfect, it seems to do a pretty good job for me. Do you use something better?
Besides not having a search function (but the results being sorted alphabetically in the "Items Sold" and "Items Purchased" tabs), I think something like this accomplishes what you're looking for: https://shopdb.ecocitycraft.com/players/<user> ex. https://shopdb.ecocitycraft.com/players/RealRichNixon https://shopdb.ecocitycraft.com/players/<region> ex. https://shopdb.ecocitycraft.com/regions/watergateshops
