What are you suggesting:

I am suggesting adding a plugin or feature that would increase the worth of a random item every X amount of hours. This was something that clar used to do, I believe it was called wandering trader or something of the sorts. She would put an alert out that /warp trader was buying something random like spruce fences for like 5 or 10x the server price. I am suggesting something similar that would pick an item from a predetermined list and then boost its worth maybe 10x for 12 hours.​

Why is this a good addition for EcoCityCraft?:

This is a good addition for a number of reasons.

One, this levels the playing field for new players who don’t have access to magic/star tools. Say for instance the item boosted is spruce fences and they sell for $10 each or something. New players could easily obtain these items and make several thousands of ecd easily. More money is good because the average player needs a lot to level up ranks. And it is especially hard to obtain money when you just join while you are unfamiliar with the server. This would give new players a sense of motivation because they know that there is at least one thing they can rely on to make money.

Two, constantly adding new content is what makes a server thrive. I know people get all upset when you mention other servers however looking at other servers with 50 or even 100x the players we have they all have something in common, they add new content. Ecc is a very grindy server, you log on grind and log off that’s pretty much the gist of it. Once players find their grind they really don’t do much else than that. Adding something like this would lift that restriction of being locked to a specific grind and being able to let’s say fish for pufferfish for 2 hours today instead of mindlessly farming which they usually do. Making sure that there is an abundance of new content keeps players, especially new, engaged and wanting to come back after they log on.​

Other information:

I truly think that making there be constant new content keeps everyone happy and will ultimately keep retention high with new players. This is something that in my opinion would be relatively easy to code/implement as it shouldn’t take more than a few hours. I get it that we are waiting for sky block and everything but I truly think after a little bit of working on pushing this idea out, this could help the server.​
