After over a year of being closed to the public, ECCMuseum has opened once again! ECCMuseum is officially open at /warp eccmuseum as of this post! As such, we have some information and an event that we want to share! For starters, anyone who goes to /warp eccmuseum can pick up an exclusive reopening event lored item free of charge! It will be on a sign located to the left of where you spawn, by the Rules & Information area. We are also hosting a Statue Building Competition to kick off this new era. There are 30 5x5x15 plots located at /warp statuecomp, so this event will be limited to 30 participants (so do not delay sign up). Your task: build a beautiful statue within your plot. Signups will conclude Tuesday, Jan 21th 2025 11:59pm EST or when we reach 30 participants. The build period is open now and concludes on Wednesday, Jan 22th 2025 11:59pm EST. Judgement will be conducted after Jan 21st & prizes handed out once that is finished. Judgement: The competition will be judged by myself (Jdawger), ClarinetPhoenix, and anyone who volunteers to judge, and be rated on a 5 point scale (with ranks being determined by amount of points across all judges). To keep this fair, ClarinetPhoenix and I are the only public judges; all other judges as well as the total amount of judges will be anonymous for the duration of the competition. In addition, besides myself for logistical reasons, nobody on the judgement team will know your plot number to keep it as double-blind as possible. If you wish to be a judge, please message me on the forums or through my discord (brassscribe). While you cannot participate in the competition, we will still give you an event lored item and make it worth your while once you submit your judgement sheet. The judgement can happen on your time after the build period concludes and will take 10-20mins tops (depending on how many people participate in the competition). We would like at least two other judges to make ratings a diverse as possible. Rules: All server rules apply. This includes, but not limited to, the Build and Chat Rules. Exercise common sense & good sportsmanship. Poor sportsmanship, toxicity, trolling, bribing judges, teaming up, boosting, and/or disruptive behavior may result in a disqualification from the competition, the barring from future ECCMuseum events, and/or a ban from the museum itself. Processing time to get you added to your plot is no more than 24hrs from your application. Since everyone who participates in the competition will get some sort of prize, you must make a legitimate attempt to build something in order to get any prize. All blank plots will be automatically disqualified. Judges also have the right to make a judgement call if extremely limited effort was put into the build and/or if the placed blocks are deemed there just to say "I put something on my plot for the prize." (The latter is for extreme cases like placing one oak plank only for example). We just want people to take this event seriously. All statues built for this competition will be displayed around the ECCMuseum, so by building anything, you consent that the build and all materials used will be used for ECCMuseum display purposes, and you consent that your name will be stated by said statue as the creator once the competition concludes. In the rarer case where 1st, 2nd, or 3rd is a tie, we will treat it with Olympic scoring where the one (or one of the) highest number(s) and the one (or one of the) lowest number(s) will be thrown out and a new total/average taken. Other ties will just have all tied players share that spot & the prizes. Overall, have fun and go nuts with your build! Don't forget to give your statue a name (A sign will be provided), but don't add your name to it as the creator.
