Hello! I guarantee that every player on the forums tonight has more spare time to post than normal ... So take a moment of your evening from cursing dying hardware (R.I.P, hamster. May the new hamster have stronger legs), and remember why you care that the server is down -- because Phys and the crew keep it running so smoothly that ONE NIGHT of downtime is a severe departure from the norm. Honestly, to read the shoutbox tonight, you would think the staff spent the evening kicking your dog. I would say "everybody who loves the server, post a thank you to the staff on this thread," but I'm afraid if I just said that, players would go "meh, staff ... those are the people who keep telling me not to pick my nose and wipe it on the spawnshops ... what do I have to thank them for?" Well, take how you feel tonight ... "hey, my virtual nose-picking fortress is gone for now!" and project those feelings on a larger scale. You built a fortress . . . they built the game where you built it. And most of the time, they pretend not to notice that you're picking your nose. So thank them, here. Make something positive out of the downtime. You don't have to . . . but any player who reads this thread and does not find something to thank the staff for has no soul. That is all.
Agreed. For this current situation, lets be glad they noticed it early and didnt have anything worse happen to the server.
I'm very appreciative how we are receiving updates from all the staff. Everyone knows exactly the problem, and what Intreppid and our hosts are doing to fix it. The communication is a good sign, and the fact that the staff is keeping everything under control in a stressful time for some individuals is a plus. Thank you staff. There's not a whole lot anyone can ask for in a stagnant server time like this.
Even when the server is failing, phys is still doing everything she can to get it back up. Good old phys. You rock. Have a cookie.
First of all, the owners and staff here have spent many an evening kicking my dog That said, I have said many times that I love the owners and our staff here on ECC and appreciate everything they do for us each and every day. I remember one time when Andrew had to drive something like five hours when we had some major hosting problems and we can not even imagine the amount of work it takes to keep this server running and upgraded like they do.
*Analyses the way the exception is handled from his own view* *Hugs all staff responsible for trying to bring the server back up*
