NOTE: READ EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU COMMENT SLANDEROUS COMMENTS, OR COMMENTS IN GENERAL, WHILE THIS MIGHT NOT BE A POPULAR SOLUTION, IT IS VERY MUCH NECESSARY. THANKS!

    Minecraft Name:Zjkhan

Suggestion: For 1 month completely remove all means of getting xp, except via the Market.

Reason: The reason why this is a good solution for a ever dangerous problem to ecc, is that wether or not it is a liked solution, it is necessary. Our market is crashing, and this, according to my research and thoughts, is the easiest solution, and while it may be a temporary solution, we can have several months a year for this to happen in order for the xp market to be rejuvinated.

Any Other Information: Leave suggestions down below, suggestion shall be edited accordingly

I don't think this is a good way of rejuvenating it, perhaps disabling some ways of getting xp?

There are currently 1/1 ways to get xp on the server, so no. You can't. Thanks for responding though :)

The demand needs to be increased drastically, or else this suggestion is useless. There are currently almost no reasons to trade XP, there needs to be demand before the supply can diminish.

The whole point of this is to decrease the amount of xp, so it lowers enough to meet the very low demand for xp, so in the end it balances out and the market, is in theory, somewhat rejuvenated.

It doesn't decrease the amount of xp, it simply stops it from getting worse. But it doesn't noticeably change anything in the economy. (besides the initial turmoil when everyone's buying and selling xp like mad in expecations of a price rise)
What you're suggesting does nothing in the long term, unless there's a way to drastically increase demand first.

then perhaps we lower the cost of enchants in the store to increase demand for enchants, which increases demand for xp?

There is little demand for it to begin with, there are already existing tools in the economy, and repair keeps them from breaking.

Thats true, but even if we can't make the market thrive again, we can at least stop it from declining, not to mention the mending enchant is out, and a few people are putting them on tools, so even if people repair, a "Max Tool" now includes mending, which i believe is not on most tools in the market currently.

Why not decrease it's spawn rate? Make it harder to obtain rather than just apply a bandaid and temporarily ban it.

We need to prevent it from over inflating. Increasing enchant prices would be dumb, and would cause tools to go up, making it harder for builders to get them.

I suppose, but we already only get xp in the mining world.. so i suppose a 50% decrease in the amount of xp from ores?

With close to no demand, decreasing the amount received will do little as well. To me the exp market is like sg and kits; it has just gone too far with the current features to be fixable. /erepair is too op and autorepair removes all accidents.

Also, many players (myself included) have tens or hundreds of thousands of exp stored in signs. A temporary removal of obtaining exp would just make some rich players richer.

As @kukelekuuk00 said, you need something to buy exp with. There is just about zero demand for exp, unless you are going for the medal. I do think that once the end is added, something should be done to regulate exp income, like less exp from ores and make mobs a larger part of earning exp so players and regulate the flow of exp coming in, and some more tools/items NEED to be purchasable with exp. In the END I think exp should be allowed from mobs (maybe even bumped a bit if other sources are greatly lessened) excerpt for the dragon so players would have a big risk earning exp because of the pvp aspect making it once again somewhat player regulated. Just my thoughts.

This is really just a regressive policy that makes the poor poorer and the rich richer without having very much impact on actual EXP prices in the long term. I'd rather not.

What's so bad about low EXP prices anyway?

An excellent point. For newer players, this helps make tools more affordable and the goals of resident and mayor more attainable. For seasoned players, it just makes eff7s slightly less op money making machines (which is good).

Here's a diagram explaning why this suggestion won't fix anything.

    demand
    SUPPLY

Pretty sure this wasn't addressed. At all.
