As decided by physicsistsmom, the $2,900,000 raised so far by jmichael's fundraiser will be distributed evenly between all of the victims. However, this can lead to some pretty unfair situations. Here are the numbers that I'm are using to do the math: Jamie's list: http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/t...charity-event-please-read.127433/#post-686215 $790 USD scammed 20 people scammed $2,902,732.11 in scam fund If we decide to use phys' model, which gives all players and equal share, everyone will get $145,136.606. That's $2,902,732.11 / 20. However, if you were scammed under that amount, the extra gets put back in the pot and re-distributed. There we 6 people below that mark, totaling $520,000. Those 6 players will be paid back fully, making the fund $2,382,732.11. That number will then be divided by the 14 remaining players, giving them $170,195.15 each. So while those 6 players get the full amount back, other people get much less. An extreme example is IzTheWizKid, getting $170,195.15 back, when he was scammed $1,000,000+. However, I'm suggesting that we use a model that depends on how much you were scammed. So, take the $2,902,732.11 in the fund, and divide it by $790, which was the amount scammed. That totals to $3,674.34 per USD. So, take how much money was scammed, and multiply it by $3,674.34 for the reimbursement. The people who were scammed the most get the most back, but it's still fair because everyone gets a proportional amount of money back. Thanks
This is a perfectly legitimate issue for debate. The decision is up to Phys, and I will do whatever she directs me to do. I won't be dividing up the fund until next Saturday, June 13, so there is time to discuss this. Thank you for starting this thread, @Dccciz. It is 19 victims, incidentally. @_Tony_Stark__ appears in Jamie's list twice.
And I also caught that Vunthorgini was already paid back, so the numbers might be slightly off for each player.
You know, I went back and read Phys's message to me just now, and she was more expressing an opinion than giving an order. So, I'm genuinely curious what the consensus is on this, and she might be, too. Can we get a general sense of what people think?
Either method is fine if everyone gets something back from this, Many people dont end up getting refunded when scammed, its happened to me before. I understand its alot to lose, but atleast your getting something back instead of nothing. Hopefully more funds are raised before the time comes, but remember to be greatful, jmichael and the community have gone to alot of trouble in raising funds to reimburse those affected. Thanks!
I like the X,000 per USD idea. Seems reasonable and fair, and it reimburses all scammed users equal percentages of their total amount scammed, if that makes sense. +1 to Dcc's idea.
You can cancel this thread. When the town sale goes through, we will be at $5.2 million. Enough to pay every victim in full.
Nicit and I spoke last night about this and we will be searching for what exactly each person paid willclo. Also I see what you are saying here. It shouldn't be an even split as people paid all different amounts. It should be done more so as a percentage of what you paid and whats available to be distributed.
