Why the Lottery is cursed.

Yesterday, I won a very size-able lottery. It was around 140k. Immediately I'm happy! I just bought one ticket! Things are looking up for me! So what do I do? I start sharing it around. 5k here, 2.5k there, and before you know it i've given away about 25k of my win. So after that, I'm feeling pretty good about myself. I'm thinking Karma is really going to start shining on me. After all, being free with my money, and nice with my deeds, did net me a lottery win to begin with. So yep....things are looking up!

Then today happens.

It's a bit hard to get online when I get home from work. The server keeps saying full, and since I'm not a donator, that's a problem. Finally I get tired of hitting refresh, and try to log in with it 2 over cap. Amazing! I'm in! Karma has shined on me once again!

Take a stroll through my town (North Shore), and there's my shop. I made my first sales! Definitely another amazing day in the making.

About then my good friend logs in, and we are working on one of rabidworm's treasure hunts. (It's amazingly fun right now but I hate you because I've wasted about 750 dollars trying to complete a certain part) Anyway, we can't manage that, so we grow bored, and journey to a place where we are thinking of building a town. The server is a bit laggy as we look around, I wander away from my friend, and I see this big hole. Immediately i'm curious! So I go to take a look! Only problem, it's a bit laggy, so I should have remembered to hit shift, but I didn't. Needless to say I fell to my death, with my unbr 3 eff 4 fort 3 pickaxe. So that makes me pretty angry, especially since i had wondered off and my friend cant find where I fell.

Sometime during this, someone from my town is looking for an investigator in the trade chat for a minor grief. I wonder whats up, and its just a couple glowstone blocks. Okay, no big deal! So then I /home. And immediately I notice there is a hole in my wall. Panic. But then I realize, no biggie! EVERYTHING is /lwc'd! All 64 furnaces!

But then I remember....MY SHOP! So I rush over there...and it's in ruins. My entire floor was destroyed. Diamond/Gold/Iron floor. Gone. It was a small shop, but still around 10k. A few more town members are around, most of them are missing blocks as well. I jump in trade, and finally manage to get an investigator. (Thanks limsy!) Turns out the culprit was a member of our own town. And as there was no mayor online, nothing could be done.

I was angry, and didn't want to go off on the person, as that's just not me, so i left and went for a drive.

Now I'm back and the servers completely clogged. So again, my terrible day continues.
As I'm sitting there I realize that when I died, 3200 exp went with me. I almost passed out.

So now I guess I go waste time thinking about how bad my day is. And maybe try to get lucky on rabid's hunt later, those sure are fun. I might even make one of my own one day!

I guess you could say this is one big rant, and I expect the common replies of "get over it" and "we dont care". But talking about it calmed me down a bit, so I guess that's a small victory in the middle of a terrible day.

But mostly i was here to tell a story, and since all stories have a moral....

The moral of mine is, IF YOU PLAY THE LOTTERY THE MINECRAFT GODS WILL HATE YOU.

Haha, I too have seen a few bad ones. Maybe I should settle down to work and try to write a halfway decent one to throw around at /spawn.
